I just tired of seeing response of saying "because no US band, then blaming the manufacture"

The current smartphone market/trend, now with the killing more and more useful everyday features, has lost the plot what people really need/use.

transparent, giving phones volumetric diplay projector sensors and rollable screens.

It still sucks that the US barely has anything that can work here. I'm still using my LG V20 for crying out loud...

The only phone I'm really interested in right now comes from an underdog like LG was...

            Motorola Razr (2019)

That's the only phone I'm actually interested in. The badly reviewed one and not the 5G. The rest are boring. I wanted the Oppo Find X but hate the size. The excitement and luster wore off with smartphones the momentum they started to remove headphone jack.

Band is easy because it's really have no secret.
              The problem is in certification.
In order for them to say "I support xx band" it need to be certified with the one that provide it. In this case USA FCC. And Chinese brand right now don't want to waste their effort with USA.

Xperia 1ii was an improvement over the original Xperia 1 in every way. Fortunately they're not going for those bad changes like removing 3.5mm jack(no justifiable reason), display cutout & no front-facing stereo speakers for the sake of full screen (where the screen itself isn't full). They offer clean Android because android is matured enough now. It also offer much better performance and enables faster system update. As for their proprietary apps, I really loved them. Yeah, it was a bad move, but not a deal breaker. They're not irreplaceable, because this is Android we're talking about. So yeah, really!

That didn't stop them from shutting down their mobile division which was leaking money.

I've considered buying the LG V20 for old time sake but I'm ok with only my G5. They're practically the same phones. The V20 being the XL/Max Pro of the G5. I decided I wouldn't. I hate the size of the V20.

The two phones I carry are the Essential Phone and iPhone 7. And my third wheel is the Nexus 5 which was manufactured by LG. All three have the best sizes for me. Any thing bigger than my G5 just isn't acceptable to me.

People do care about fast charging, but Samsung and Apple don't care, they want to milk their customers by providing poor quality outdated charging. They are solely focused on making more money and nothing else.

"Besides Samsung's second attempt at it take a look how Chinese flagships are doing with battery life thanks to QHD 120Hz displays"

The One Plus 8 pro has amazing battery life (over 100hr) while having non LTPO panel and QHD with 120hz .
The main Culprit for poor battery life with qhd 120hz is the Snapdragon 888 chip which has a huge power draw compared to its predecessor. Only Galaxy S21 Ultra managed to squeeze out good battery life out of the Snapdragon 888 thanks to the combination of slightly higher battery capacity, cpu governors which favored battery life and LTPO display.

Reuters said LG is the first major player to pull out of the smartphone industry. Since when was LG ever really a major player?

LG hasn't been relevant since the G2. I always viewed LG similarly to Sega which left the gaming hardware industry by 2001.

My first Android phone was the original G (Optimus G), beast at the time of it's release (top notch processor, 4G, 2GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory). Not many competitors had such specs at that time. My second and last LG phone is LG G8X. I bought it because it was a good deal and nothing else. Glad that I bought it. Will try to collect LG wing assuming this will be a classic in my collection.

rizki1, 05 Apr 2021who cares? soon apple and motorola cant live here in asia...The self-centeredness of this response to wanting global bands so everyone can use any phone without issues is astounding..

LG is leaving at the right time. What we will see these next 10 years with smartphones will essentially look the same with very little improvements or fun innovations. Most people who don't visit sites like this will hang onto their phones much longer than before than they may only upgrade twice per decade instead of five to ten times.

Kingslayer, 05 Apr 2021Smartphones are kinda DEAD to me already. Not in terms of f... moreVery true. Android was so great to see develop over the years when i bought the first Nexus One. But today i dont care anymore. Boring.
I switch my smartphones now every 3rd year to keep up with the performance only, not the features.
