    Smartphones are kinda DEAD to me already. Not in terms of finance but in just innovation. The market can only hold so many players. Yes, we have foldables and such. But the industry has gotten boring.

    We are now living an era where most phones look the same and OEMs remove features and even chargers but keeps raising prices. How smartphones were from 2007 to 2016 will never be the same again. LG is leaven at the right time. Perhaps 3 to 4 year too late.

      I will forever love my LG G5. My favorite smartphone ever.

      - Removable battery
      - Micro-SD slot
      - Headphone jack
      - IR blaster
      - Wide-angle camera
      - Some variants had FM radio

      I never really had issues with the GPS. My image retention went away for good with the blue light filter and just using dark backgrounds. Rather deal with those issues than the dreaded bootloops the G4 and V10 were plagued with.

      People can say good riddance. I say goodbye and thank you, LG.

          Less competition is always a bad thing for customers.. LG had lost its path in smartphone market anyway hope they get stronger in other department or even come back with decent smartphones in the future.

                  People here cant accept the fact profits can be made even if volume of units sold is small.
                  Yes , it is possible. Be sure there are brands selling much more than other and still losing money with phones.

                  LG sold more than 30 mi units tablets/phones before pandemic.
                  Much more than ones you think are the next.

                    Iam a huge fan of LG smart phones I have been using g4 g5 v30+ g7 g8 and now iam waiting for v60+ but the news I have heard is really is sad why not lg will market like other brands like opponents one+ vivo etc good marketing strategy makes brand improvement

                        First, USA always do things differently from the rest of the world.
                        Second, The anti-China things make the Chinese reluctant to enter the USA market.

                        So, don't blame the China brand, and complaint to you're country.

                                      Fast charging - there are close to 500 million phones sold each year that take close to two hours to recharge and I'm talking only about Apple and Samsung combined numbers here. So conclusion is people don't care about fast charging enough for these two giants to implement them across the board

                                      High Resolution HRR screens - Besides Samsung's second attempt at it take a look how Chinese flagships are doing with battery life thanks to QHD 120Hz displays. Their battery life equals to Xperia 1II which has close to 20% less capacity than mentioned Chinese flagships.

                                      Battery capacity - It means nothing really, while it's a fact that more juice battery has the longer phone will last but we've seen so far that 500mAh doesn't in capacity not necessarily makes a difference in battery life. We've seen phones with worse battery life despite having a 500mAh advantage over competitiors.
