12 April 2021
The phone resembles the Galaxy S21, but with minor differences in the camera and body.

but i agree that glass back has no function at all, it just about premium look and feel, but that's the point.

Samsung has its own store, they could do it without any problems

I hope this thing is gonna have an OPTICAL x3 zoom from S21 Ultra (the 10 Mpx one) and SD card :D.
If it does and other cameras won't be a downgrade from S21, we'll finally have a pretty compact Samsung flagship with an optical zoom.

tbh i only care about the touch screen issue. i wanted to upgrade to the s20 fe 5g since pre order were on but didnt cause of the touch issues.

bajijus, 12 Apr 2021wonder if it will use exynos 2100 or snapdragon 870 well, ... moreExynos 2100 is still limited to 4G S21 at the moment and there's even the recent news of Samsung switching the S20 FE 4G chipset from Exynos 990 to SD 865. So SD 870 is likely to be the preferred choice unless Samsung has other ideas in mind.

Between the Samsung and the Poco F3, I'd still think of buying the Samsung because they have a better software update policy than Xiaomi. Up to this point, I only see the F1, X2, and F2 Pro receive Android 11 OS update. The rest of 2018 to 2020 Poco phones are still stuck at Android 10 for the time being.

I don't understand how Samsung can lie with their zoom. It's not x3, it's x1 and x3 hybrid. Still, if they do a zoom crop on the FE, it doesn't make sense. It should at least have x2 like the S20 FE. (And not have the serious sensitivity touch and ghost touch problems of the S20FE screen!!!!).

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2021Do you use your smartphone without any protection? Sounds v... morePreach! That is why I don't mind the plastic back of the vanilla S21. You are still going to put a phone casing anyway, so the advantage of having a glass back finish is automatically gone. People may argue about wireless charging, but I have a Nokia Lumia 830 and a Microsoft Lumia 950+950 XL that can easily do wireless charging despite having a plastic back panel.

Tigolebitties, 12 Apr 2021No Zeiss, Hasselblad or Leica? SKIPI don't think I will care about those camera collaborations if the smartphone camera's image processing software is still not impressive enough.

wongwatt, 12 Apr 2021If they favour software why are they putting up with Samsun... moreBloatware is just preinstalled apps. Software can be more than that.
Also other manufacturers have lots of bloatware.
Of course, in their official statements they said the bloatware is there for a more easy usage of the phone. And to some extent that is true. Each user is different in his/her own way. Maybe some apps that you or I find useless, others may use regularly.
Is also true that manufacturers should grant the possibility of uninstalling any preinstalled app. But, there are contracts also done with some app developers (so maybe they are obliged to put that particular app and leave it on the phone). Or they just want to promote their own apps.
Bottom line, the discussion is far more complex than it looks at first glance.
Anyway, if you are buying any flagship or good mid-range phone, bloatware shouldn't be a problem, at least not a performance problem.

Friends, your samsung provide worst quality phones. Accept it.
S series with plastic back in 2021.
Imagine how much they would compromise on other components that we do not see. Stop this fan boism. If samsung provided quality compenents i would have said it proudly but they do not.
My all samsung phones slow down after 1 year and heating problems. Phone hangs. Power button gets broken easily after an year. Accept it. Samsung aims super profit. Even doing unethical purposefully selling failure chipset in 2020 just to make profit. Accept it. They are not good. Think again.

The basic S21 has two 12mp and a zoom that consists of a straight crop from its 64mp - that's a cheap camera array.
Meanwhile I have a 50mp main, a 40mp ultra wide, a 3x optical zoom and a 10x optical periscope zoom - that's the real deal. Samsung are cheating their flagship buyers to force them to spend more on the Ultra.

AnonD-994147, 12 Apr 2021Some people favor software more than hardware. That's ... moreIf they favour software why are they putting up with Samsung's bloated mess?
