Numerous incidents where Sony mobile software division caught partying during work hours.
No wonder there release dates gets shifted 6 months after launch as there software is not ready.
It's because of such unprofessionalism, the company is going down.
Chinese manufacturers have workers who work hard, day and night being form developing countries.
Sony employees being from developed countries are not that motivated to work on these devices

It's all internal fights between camera divisions, which is why camera quality is so bad compared to other flagships. No unity in the company, no marketing, poor availability across the world and a host of other problems plaguing the company.

If anything, I want the small-sized smartphone to make a comeback and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone with it. Even the 6.4" on my V50 already feels gigantic to me, let alone the 6.8" on the Samsung S21 Ultra.

I have had 4K video recording capabilities since 2014 when I got an Xperia Z3 Compact... but the amount of times I've actually recorded 4K content can be counted with my hands. That phone had 16GB of storage internally and required a high speed microSD to actually record 4K for a few minutes.
Right now I have an Xperia 5 II with 256GB of internal storage which, yes, I fill with games and media, but I also got a 256GB microSD card for more media content.
I used to locally backup my photos, now I won't even bother.

All in all, I think this is a great phone for its segment. I almost bought last year's 10 II but 4gb of ram and SD 660 is borderline for android phones. This year I might just replace my Huawei 5T. The main advantages for me as I do not play mobile games at all are: good enough SOC for everyday tasks, 6gb of ram, small form factor withhout the notch or hole punch, good audio quality because I listen to a lot of music, battery care and ip65/68 water resistance. Of course I wouldn't be looking at this at all if I was a gamer or a passionate photographer...

- still a lousy performance soc for gaming, should use a mediatek dimensity 1000
- lousy camera?? for the price
Always like the design and ui of xperia but hardly justify from shifting back from a cheap china phone with flagship sd865.

I doubt you've used a HRR screen long enough, let alone use it to make such judgements. Lmao dumb stuff? You're really gonna judge what people do with their phones? The point of having a HRR is the smoothness. 120 Hz is perceptibly better than 60 Hz. If you're worried about battery, just switch back to 60 Hz or let the phone do its job with adapting to it (which few phones have this). My battery is fine on HRR.
Almost all games? Have u checked the list of games with unlocked framerate?? Or played one? Whether it's on phone or PC??
Why do 60 Hz screens exist if TV content is mostly around 30 FPS? If you didn't realise, 144 and 120 is perfectly divisible by 24 which eliminates judder when watching such content. Even if you watch a lot of videos, everything else will take advantage of HRR. Also, battery life is similar when watching videos whether on 60 Hz or beyond that.
Do you know what phones had 120 Hz that time? Do you think the normal consumer would use or even know about it? Now compare each year how many phones that include a HRR screen. If I had the option to pick a phone with an outdated chipset or current chipset at the same price, I'd pick the latter. If I had the option to pick 60 or 120 Hz at the same price, it's a no-brainer to pick the latter. Why should I choose an inferior option? You sound like you hate innovation and competition.
You can either stick to using your phone or buy a new midrange. I'm not one to judge if someone chooses to get something that's overkill, at least they're satisfied.
Now this sentence assumes anti-Chinese.

Iphone is not gonna make iphone 14 mini.
And maybe not 13 mini.
Market for small phones are over.
People are using phones more than ever.
Small phones are bad for watching videos, games, messages, photo editing etc ..
Phones smaller than 14,8cm are doomed. People need to move on.
