Cyan111111, 19 Apr 2021Of all continents why Africa though?.Well Im pretty sure Africa is known for being poor. No bad intention but thats how the internet(which I think Africa does in fact suffer the most out of all continents) sees it, sorry. Especially in Central Africa.

Also sorry but the phrase I used was a common phrase. Sorry again if I offended you.

LucasN82, 19 Apr 2021When you tap on screen you move whole device so it's m... moreIt's the opposite. A shutter button leads to blur as horizontal and vertical movements lead to more blur than a varying distance to the object. OIS doesn't compensate the varying distance to the object and that's not really an issue apart from macro photos.

impinas, 19 Apr 2021If there is a hole that is useless and annoying and bloody,... more"MarkII has the best camera of any phone" ???!!! You must be joking or just lying yourself, mate. Mark II has the worst camera quality among all over $1000 phones ever. This is just undeniable fact, not my opinion. There is the reason why other phone makers want to put better (bigger, more MPs, brighter) camera sensors on expensive flagship phones.
Who cares about battery life? I change the phones twice a year so charging speed is more important for me.
Side mounted fingerprint sensor is outdated , inconvenient crap. In-screen one or 3D face unlock is a way better.
So Xperia phones are just big, unjustifiably expensive, outdated gimmicks for blind Sony fans, nothing more.

VectorR, 19 Apr 2021Few very critical issues are missing though: - no 3D Face ... moreIf there is a hole that is useless and annoying and bloody, it's the one i-n-s-i-d-e the screen. I mean OMG. The majority of what you say are marketing gimmicks. I don't want those.
Who cares about the sensor type when it produces the best photos in the market? The MarkII has the best camera of any phone so, I guess, the III will be better. I want THIS.
The battery is very good for the screen and body dimmensions. The charging speed is pretty decent and focuses on long life. I want THIS.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the side fingerprint reader. Unless you care for... the gimmick and showing off!
The major features of the Xperias are in not so apparent areas.

Sony and camera are like day and night.
21:9 aspect ratio? What, hell no!
Sony phones just means oldschool outdated design, low class camera, very quite speaker, small battery, no updates and a huge price tag.
Any entry level Xiaomi or Huawei will easily outperform Sonys so called flagships.

LucasN82, 19 Apr 2021"Tapping on a good quality touch screen makes no movem... moreSony needs a lot of things to fix. They have a long way to go. That's true. Their smartphone screens aren't good even considering the fact that they don't make them. I noticed subbar screen quality of Xperia 5 II straight away when put it next to my Pixel 4 while transferred data. That's the fact too.
P.S.: Sure you won't find complaints about missing touch screen shutter button in PhotoPro app and contributing it into blurry night shots. You just don't want to accept the bad facts about your beloved brand / phone.

Kriegsherr, 19 Apr 2021the name ''china product'' sums it all up. Yes, China is great and I like Chinese products too. Bad quality stuff from China is in the distant past, mate. And you have just stuck in that time. Japanese quality is gone for good.

"Tapping on a good quality touch screen makes no movement compared to physical shutter button".
So we need "good quality screen" to make no movement? That is hilarious. I must save this fore new generations. :)

There is no even one blury or water painting photo samples. All shot from hand in jpeg without any PC correction. You only need steady hands. And yes.. not all photos from 5II are good, but u can easily shot 100 good in 1 hour. Cheers.

Not a word about 4K HDR OLED 120Hz display?!

LucasN82, 19 Apr 2021When you tap on screen you move whole device so it's m... moreYou're talking nonsense, mate. Tapping on a good quality touch screen makes no movement compared to physical shutter button, especially when it covered with case. I'm not alone here, there are lots of complaints about this issue in the Internet, trust me. Also using Xperia 1 II / 5 II without the case is a bad idea because of poor quality case coating (corners loose the painting / coating quicker than you think) and because that phone is damn slippery.

Water painting, blurry shots, wrong colors etc - all attributes of bad photos are here. Don't always trust Youtube, mate!

Phones have been... moreLow light photos taken by previous Xperia 1 / 1 II 5 II are quite disappointing. Photos come out blurry, underexposed quite often or just like water painting. I had Xperia 5 II and I know what I'm talking about. Using PhotoPro app with the phone handheld is pretty much impossible - blurry shots are quaranteed. Mechanical shutter button (and absence of on-screen touch one) makes it even worse for obvious reasons. To be honest I was shocked to see such "results". Proper Night Mode (I call it Night Vision) is actually cool. I like to have camera ability to see at night when I can't see a thing. And it's not dying out at all. Sony just sluggish here as well as with computational photography. Perhaps they just don't wanna invest into it knowing that they won't sell more phones anyway.

Apart from the price, which looks to be way too high for a product with such a long lifespan, these look like excellent phones, especially the 1 Mk. III!

I'm seriously considering getting one - but there is one thing holding me back (apart from the price): with a screen this tall, why has Sony not opted to go for a vertical view of recent apps? Like it used to be? It is such a waste of screen estate, and much more annoying to use.
This makes switching from my Miui phone really hard (which has a really good "recents" funtion, much better than the crap Google came up with).
