    - "1II and 5II has very good night mode" - pure lie. I had Xperia 5 II for a month. Night photos are mostly unusable, water painting too damn often. Taking any good night shoots with the phone handheld is pretty much impossible,
    - have a good look at the main camera sensor specs and compare it with the last year Xperia 1 II one.

In the past Night mode was to just ramp up ISO which made images bright but so noisy it was hardly usable. Now with Night mode you can use relatively low ISO and still get bright enough and most importantly, sharp images. iPhone was never exactly horrid in night scenes, but with NightMode (former NeuralCam), it's just not comparable.

        - no one need desktop mode on Xperia
        - 1II and 5II has very good night mode (you can check my channel on YT) - Ive tested both. It is normal auto night mode the same like Huawei P30
        - outdated camera sensor? Really? :D
        - personally I dont need selfie camera (most of people make photos on mirror), 8mpx is better than 32mpx on Samsung - lower noise
        - Photo Pro is really good app with similar UI like Sony cameras - if someone have IQ > 50 will have no problems to use Photo Pro
        Cheers.

          As a xperia fan,
          Sony starts making features as their fans needs. But still some now there.
          Any how,theey have started listening fans rather than the trend.
          Mark 3 series are excellent for me.
          Make available soon and also for wide market like before.

Phones have been taking good enough images at outdoor low light for a quite a while and with Night mode turned on images became worse by a mile. Night mode is a horrible virus that infected the industry on simple wow factor and in return you get images with artificial lighting, horrible color rendering, watercolor smudging and most of all images don't look like it's not a nighttime at all. Disgusting feature and I'm glad we are past that crap.

Less then any other phone i had. Sony phones are just very low value for money. They deserve every bit of the hate they are Receiving.

                  - crappy selfie camera,
                  - poor performance of the Photo app and ridiculous menu of ProCamera app,
                  - average battery size and below average charging speed,
                  - bloody hole in the case called headphone jack (I'd rather have a hole in the screen).
                  And all these "features" for $1300 some time in couple of month?!
                  No, thanks!

                    When you buy a phone for that price it must have a Good costumer suport while Sony mobile is polling out From most parts of the world. I trusted the brand name thinking it wont malfunction. A big Mistake. A lot of money wasted. Buy cheap fall small.

                        wongwatt, 19 Apr 2021If there's only static stuff in the photo why can'... moreI've been reading your posts and I really don't know what is your problem with the camera. Have you read the actual manual for the camera app and how to use it? Start from there.

                        If your autofocus is failing you so much like you say you have shutter button that has a half press and that half press shows you how photo is going to end up looking so you don't need to take the picture in order to see how it's going to end up. For moving or static objects there is Object tracking options and it's been there since forever, you tap on object and it tracks it. That is how you shoot in the low light as well if you want your subject to be properly exposed and sharp, you need Object Tracking turned on instead of tap to focus. All of that is explained in the manual.

                        I rarely have to tap on screen to focus cause during daytime, usually it focuses what's in the center of the screen as shown by the circle once you half press the shutter button.

Chinese quality surpassed Japanese one quite a while ago. I feel sorry for you, mate. And for "glorious" Sony brand too. Unfortunately they're sore loosers in the smartphone market. And they know it! This is exactly why Sony don't want to spend money on promotion, proper reviews, marketing etc. It's just not worth for them.

And you do not know what are you talking about. I used to have Canadian T-Mobile unlocked LG V60 ThinQ 5G which worked perfectly in New Zealand for all two months I had it. No locks, no bloatware, everything worked. And...I received OTA Android 11 update 3 weeks ago right here! The phone is awesome by the way. It looks bulky on the pictures only (5000mAh battery is not a joke there, it was 2 days phone for me easily). And the most important thing - it costs a fraction of Xperia 1 II or 1 III price - $450.

                              hint for haters: if you want to know what phone is premium, search for Wifi charging; stop congrating your chinees bullshit;
                              2'nd hint for haters: 95% of camera sensors on all chinese "premium" phones comes from sony;

                                  but in fact they start making profit.

                                  and what they did with this gen is amazing.

                                  as i had sony xperia 1 before i know for sure 21:9 is amazing experiecen for doing social media or watching movie and playing games.

                                    Dont worry, Sony will kick its own foot with pricing and lack of any logic behind camera software that just mess up quality even if hardware is good.
