One of the biggest part of underdisplay camera is actually the software trying to fix how awful the quality of the horrible idea to look through an opaque surface give you, biometric on the other hand can't use software enhancement as they need RAW, untouched data.
Just look how slightly dirty fingers already prevent optical underdisplay FPS to work, and UD FPS have it easy as the finger is pressed against the display and a bright light help seeing through.
Underdisplay camera are a bad idea in itself, but visual biometric under the display is even worse.
