Motorola cancels ICS update for certain devices

Thank god i got ics update on my atrix 2, otherwise i would have dropped my phone, crushed it under wheels, put it on fire & would have sent the remains to motorola in a little coffin, and would have straightaway bought a lumia 920 or 820...gingerbread was so ugly that i hate to think about it...

I BELIEVE, Motorola perpetrated a fraud on its consumers by promising ICS to its Photon owners and other phone owners in the 4th Qtr. of 2012 and then reneges. This is not good business and...owning my 6th Motorola phone product, I am appalled! A Class Action is sure in order as, I believe, it was premeditated and fraudulent because the last update for these phones was a lock code so that consumers couldn't access the promised upgrade, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, regardless of the fact that Android Jelly Bean is the most current version in the Android community today. GOOGLE YOUR LIASION WITH THIS FIASCO AND ITS MANAGEMENT TEAM MAKE YOU CULPABLE TOO!!!!!!

WP8 runs smoother with less lockups and reboots on a single core 1 ghz processor and 512 MB ram than Android or iPhone on Dual or Quad Core 1.5 Ghz processor and 2 GB ram. And better to be looking at the Windows tiles than the Fisher Price icons that the iPhone has had for the last 5 years.

Seriously - Atrix 4G is a great phone and all it needs is ICS or Jellybean to be even nicer.
I was hoping to get the official update for my daughter's phone but seems like Google really bought the company for the patents only... How come the open source coders can port any OS to this device and Motorola cannot? This is another example of business decision taken straight from Apple philosophy

Keep in mind that Motorola has already announced that people who have a 2011 device that will not receive ICS, will get a $100 discount on a new phone. At least in the US.
Despite being a very good device, the Atrix never really "took off" in sales, so I suppose it's considered cost inefficient to spend money on customizing ICS for it. A shame considering Xoom is exactly the same HW apart from radio transmitter and screen res. - and it got ICS a long time ago.
Anyways, I really hope Moto get their act together and actually start doing what they are talking about - reducing number of phone models, so they actually can support them! Marketingand support outside of US is alson important to actually being visible and appealing globally.
2012 started with DEFY Mini, and since then another 30 or so models and varitaion of models have been announced. Almost all of which are androids. They obviously need a bigger and better programming department to support them. Hopefully Dennis Woodside does something about this.
The Razr and DEFY series are very very good, and so was the atrix. But having both atrix, razr, droid and photon side by side, with just about the same specs on all of them, seems a bitt silly - especially if they loos money on some of the models and still keep them.

I purchased the ATrix 4G with the promise that it WOULD BE upgraded to ICS as its spec sheets suggests it can handle it WITHOUT A PROBLEM!!!! This is A DISGRACE! SHAME ON MOTOROLA!
