It's HMD so it'll probably come next year on q3 then probably will be delayed for 6 more months, at that point HMD will must definitely adapt to a new naming scheme, so so... it'll never coming. Debunked.

The issue with mid range chipsets is not the speed, but that the video functionality is so poor. Even the 888 needs double the data rete, and could do with 8x to get optimal quality. Which shows where normal video camera quality is at on flagships. Even Sony consumer 4k was 50mb/s h265, which translates into 200mb/s 8kp30, and p50/60 4:2:2 12 bit would be a lot higher. The mid range chipsets need the video performance of the 888 or double that. The flagship processing chips need double the 888. It should be that cheap phones do 4k, that bottom of the mid range chipsets do excellent mid range, and the top does 8k, and the flagship does excellent 8k (enough datarate for high speed 8k and mediocre 16k with Samsung's new 200mp sensor).
So, as Qualcomm does not do a mid range with too end camera (a bottom end flagship product). Which such "big" phones people say, will let you pot a the parts in, there exists room for a company like Nokia or Xiaomi, or whoever, to use a cheap mid range chipset with a custom camera chip, in a $300 model. That gets excellent 8k quality, and high speed, and even more. Of course, you will need a seperate high-end USB connection to record to a externally SSD at max quality all the time. There is a chunk in the chipset companies armory. Nokia could do this...

You know I wouldn't mind seeing a next version of the light phone, for 8k video, but 4 or five sensors.(lite light) with one of them in the middle. Sony had a contract to do the sensor modules for light, and light apparently spent tens of millions doing a custom chip before it. Before everything somehow collapsed. All stuff that would have been nice to snap up. But could it be camera patents? I was pushing for multipoint computational imaging phone for years, then suddenly Red took out a bunch of patents, and was to introduce them on a phone module, but it all suddenly vanished, and so did light. Even Qualcomm sketches of a hefty multicamera prototype for a new chipset came to light. What was that 7 or 10 cameras it could support? Where is it now!?
Of course, their was a multipoint version. I was waiting for that the military snatched up, thanks again. Then there was older multipoint schemes. Going back to the 1930's and 1920's, where the maths was developing for computational imaging, which make blanket patents stopping everything unlikely (but that doesn't stop patenters). So, maybe somebody developed something and cane up against the industry? Anyway, our hopes of Nokia being a leader in this field vanished.

beep bop boop, 26 Apr 2021"There are just many who don't want to deal with ... moreI think phone companies have caused much of the outrage about headphone jacks themselves by their smug and arrogant attitude to this issue. Apple had a bs excuse about being brave and then Samsung decided to mock them only to do the same thing a year later. Then obviously (mostly) everyone else followed suit. If instead of playing childish games apple/Samsung had been honest with its customers and come out and said look we are phasing out headphone jacks over the next 3 years and moving over to BT technology as we believe this is now sufficiently established to replace wired headsets then (maybe) people would have accepted the move better. I bought a pair of cheap BT headphones from Amazon recently and can't believe how good they are paired with my Poco X3 NFC and they last about a week between charges too. No more snagged wires and having to feed cables to stop them dangling. Also if a dongle was added in the box with all phones that have removed the jack so folks can still use wired headphones if they want. The trouble is things are forced on people instead of treating their loyal paying customers with some respect and explaining things properly with GENUINE reasons and not bs excuses. Also don't mock a company then do exactly the same thing it's infuriatingly childish and an insult to people's intelligence! Same with the charger situation, I like Xiaomis way of doing it by giving the choice to have a charger free of cost if you want but not to have a charger if you don't want one. The best of both worlds for customer and company. They still save some money because some folks won't want another charger but they don't lose out because they have been putting chargers in the box from the beginning. These companies could do a lot to help their customer relations by treating them as intelligent adults and not children. Anyhows that's my thoughts on the subject what do others think? Do you agree or disagree with my thoughts? Peace ✌️

growing up with nokias and their symbian offering, i have always wanted to pick-up again a nokia device with android OS. But I can see from their offerings, none seem enticing enough to make me grab one. hardware choices amongst its line-ups are always lacking in some department, making them a deal-breaker for me. And even their most expensive offering, has weaknesses like poor design choices, or exorbitant pricing. NOKIA, pick yourself up, see how much the market has changed and make your brand relevant again, PLEASE!

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2021Finally a flagship worthy phone.. Although not SD8xx.. SD77... moreIf the Xiaomi Ultra has bad quality cameras for you, then better that you avoid to buy phone. And also avoid the reviews comparing the cameras of this phone with the other premium mid-rangers. With the HMD famous image processing software and mediocre sensors with only the main one usable, better that you save money and buy the also overpriced X20. This one will cost a flagship price being an average mid-ranger. Premium mid-rangers use the SD870 and better cameras. Even the telephoto is only has 2x zoom, it will be ridiculous if it is a digital zoom. lol

786, 26 Apr 2021Epic fail, S760 instead off S888.
It belongs in the dust... moreIf the SD775 gets an upgrade from 7nm to 6/5nm using 2x A78/6x A55 and some sort of upgrade on the Adreno GPU it should easily be a worthy upgrade over the 765-series.
Why do a group of people think that isn't good enough?

Finally a flagship worthy phone.. Although not SD8xx.. SD775 is more than enough.. 108MP, ultrawide, tele, OZO, cinemamode, QHD+ 120Hz HDR Puredisplay, Dolby speakers, all in a solid Nokia build quality with Android one stock interface as the icing and 3 years of update support as the cherry on top..
Who cares about Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra with SD888 but low quality camera.. We won't just buy the car for its engine and neglect the cabin.. The whole package has to be balanced and enjoyable..
I'll hold off my X20 purchase for this.. Wohoo can't wait

beep bop boop, 26 Apr 2021"There are just many who don't want to deal with ... moreLet's put it that way then :
I have a Corsair Void Pro that is a 3.5mm Jack headset plugged into its own USB sound card, it sounds great, it is comfortable, and I like it, some have 500€+ 3.5mm Jack headsets that they can also describe as awesome.
Why should we have to give up on them because one brand decided to stop supporting an actively used standard, in a world (computer) where keeping older standards is a rule (we still have 3G, Wi-Fi A, Bluetooth 1, USB 1.0 compatibility, etc) only to force sell something many didn't ask for?
The same way some want small phones, some prefer the tall Sony form factor, some prefer LCD, some prefer curved edge display, etc, people have tastes, preferences, so why is it that Smartphone is the ONLY industry that can have a HUGE diversity that force things into customers?
Imagine if all vehicles available to buy suddenly were SUV or Pick-up trucks and regardless what people prefer they had no other choices, oh and vehicle only lasted 3 years, but also force you into a limited set of features, design, engine type and power, and while they start to force what radio station you listen, some start to say "Who care about them anyway"?

but BT audio has gotten so much better now, devices last upto 35 hours now and on regular use (for me it is 2-3hrs everyday), i only have to recharge my Bose's once every week and pairing should not be much of a problem now that BT headphones can now do multi-device pairing and can easily switch between devices. I can't quite argue with that mainly because i don't use headphones at all whenever i watch a movie or game. and plus, the BT headphones have a 3.5mm jack in them so you can use it wired as well. its kinda best of both worlds if you think about it. ok look, im not gonna try and shove these down people's throats, im just saying that even BT audio is getting better and better each year with Sony leading the pack and i think they are also worth considering for your next pair of headphones

The issue isn't Bluetooth's audio, the issue is that those who don't want it are forced into it just because Apple wanted to force those things down the throat of their customers who would buy literally anything Apple tell them to buy.
And this is ignoring the fact that the 3.5mm Jack have other purpose than audio, this is a good example :

The BT equivalent cost easily 10x more and inherit all the security issues of BT.
