If it's going to cost that much for a Song phone who's name you can't even remember after an hour, you need your head examined. The best of the best of other Phone Company cost less than a Sony that almost nobody wants

first 8K was one of marketed feature of that phone so having it with 128Gb is a bad decision especially with no Expandable storage .
secondly todays smartphones aren't just a normal call and endcall devices they are capable of doing a lot of things .(desktop mode ,Vloging ,doing works outdoor...)
so if you are gonna spend over 1000$ on a phone to just to do what 300$ phone capable of then better stick with that 300$ then wasting your money

Human eyes has 20 stops of DR, phones like Sony maybe has 10. FF mirrorless can go up to good 15 stops. Surprisingly, Huawei with it RYYB on P40/Mate 40 can get to 15 stops as well (JPEG only, RAW has hardware limitation, unlike real camera which can get on both). And I talk that by just using Auto, no Night Mod.
If you call a low light pics produce by Sony a7iii as natural, so the brighter low light on a7siii is unnatural? Back then Xperia 1 low light photo are darker than the actual scene, people call it wow Sony so natural night photos. 1ii & 1iii definitely brighter than that, so not natural right? 🙄

Dynamic ra... moreI kinda have to agree, yes I do like the colour reproduction, but the amount of noise is quite disturbing (like Oppo Find X3 level of disturbing) especially on the UWA camera. In some scenes the details are somewhat blurred and overshapened at the same time, so it's not like Sony is trying to make those photos look true to life, either. I won't compare this to similarly priced phones with larger sensors, no.. it might improve through software updates, though.

despite all these Sony has almost same endurance as Samsung or xiaomi. the photo pro app can take the best picture if you have a little literacy. it has SD card, has 3.5mm jack. it has one of the best screens.
its the best phone out there which costs the same as Samsung who is the top seller, costs same as xiaomi who is just another chinese non-brand. so about justification? with $1200 price tag (if the final pricing is $1200), its the best buy.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2021Oh yeah that obsession with low light or whose feces smell ... moreYou won't believe how many photos that I've taken in pitch black I shared with my friends or uploaded onto Instagram because they look surprisingly good. I can always make a bright photo into a dark looking one by adjusting the brightness and contrast in post, but the reverse is definitely not true. Call it unhealthy "obsession" or whatever, I'll take well exposed shots with good colours over murky dark mess anytime in my life.

huawei provides an alternative for those who hate duopoly of Android IOS and also has the best chips (Kirin 9000), software and photography prowess and innovation
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has the best screen out there right now, and also a contender for best camera, and is also lower priced quite a bit.
Sony tries to offer a stock feel and has the pro apps, but uhh thats about it man. cameras are above average but not the best either, battery optimization maybe a plus but like $1500? same price as S21 ultra???? bruh no thanks

Everybody is crying about the price, saying it is too expensive. But what about iphone, samsung, huawei mate!? They all cost over 1000 euros. Why nobody is complaining about those prices? Everybody pays 1400euro for Samsung s21 with its shitty Exynos which heats up faster than microvave, and battery dies instantly. Sony phones are quality items. This is not a xiaomi trash so don't even compare those two.

But still in line with other flagship phones when capacity matched.
Though I wish they lowered the price so as to attract even more customers, maybe like Sammy-$800/$1000 for the Xperia 5/1
