I ordered mine from TradingShenzhen and ... moreUS has relaxed customs, single pieces of electronics that come in are always declared as samples and most of the time customs are not bothered to put duties on it. In EU it's different but varies from country to country, if your shipment comes with express delivery such as FedEx, UPS and especially DHL they all do freight forwarding services and if goods value is marked up correctly they will tax you before they hand you the package. That's why I call BS on a guy below claiming he got his Mi 11 Ultra in Switzerland by DHL from HK with no import duties. DHL is notorious for doing proper import papers even on samples but there are times you can get lucky and package slips through.

It's a awesome smartphone but i doubt most people will shell out 1200 for a Xiaomi. It's very good don't get me wrong but 95% of the people will opt for the S21 ultra or iPhone 12 pro max at those prices. The other 5% (us geeks) yeah maybe will buy it.
If they put it at 999 though that would probably be different...

For European folks there is a modified ROM based on the Chinese variant, but without all the bloatware, called: xiaom.eu. It's kinda official, semi-supported by Xiaomi and receives frequent updates synced with the Chinese releases. There is a stable and a weekly variant.

I ordered my phone from WondaMobile on Friday and i got it on Wednesday, so pretty fast from Hong Kong to Switzerland via DHL and no extra fees/tax.
Marbled white edition (12gb/512gb) for around 1150 Euros.

I ordered mine from TradingShenzhen and it took 9 days in total to land on my doorstep.
No extra custom tax paid.
Giztop is also good site. The famous flossy Carter from YouTube orders it from there as well.

Google playstore and services comes pre-installed when you purchase it from these sites. Even if it doesn't you can manually install it. No bricking, no tinkering needed.

So here it is. Just to clear this up, you can import the Chinese one but it will come with Xiaomi.eu which is hit or a miss, Google pay might work for a while, the China phone has Chinese features on the phone which isn't designed for anyone outside China, although it supports English, you could flash the device with the global ROM and Google pay won't work without workarounds, flashing the global ROM and locking the bootloader to get Google pay working will brick your device. If you what you're doing tinkering with ADB/fastboot, flashing, root then go for it, If You're a standard user pay the extra and get the global.

Shame as it's a lovely device, the experience with Miui is like a beta ROM, battery and performance will be brutal.
