Shadocx, 06 May 2021Less lenses is better in your book?It's better since the manufacturers slap 4 cameras in back, out of which two are 2mp macro and depth. Hopefully, Asus ditching them means we get a headphone jack, probably a triple sim slot, adequate battery for the size of the phone, and everything we love about Zenfone (except there's no flipcam).

And after Asus skipped Zenfone 7 for most of the markets, fans are really hyped for the new phone. Let's wait and see, since price is gonna be big factor here. Asus might not undercut Xiaomi in their pricing, but they'll surely price it lower than the camera gimmick OnePlus 9.

In what years is Asus gonna add wireless charging to their phones ? Every year i'm thinking ok this is now or never and it never shows up. The funniest part is that they are selling ROG QI desktop wireless charger, how ironic is that ?

2) Asus has no interest to make phones below $600, higher priced phones bring more money.
$700 xiaomi mi11 does not have even the single IP53, you want Asus to make IP68 + military grade for $400?

Although, I must say I sort of disagree with the Hz-impression. I can see a clear improvement going from 60Hz to 120Hz. But I can't see much difference between 60Hz and 90Hz. I think if an OEM is thinking about 90Hz, they should just stick to 60Hz and save the battery power. But if they want a SMOOTH visual, they should just take the leap to 120Hz screen. Obviously, these HRR displays should also give the option for the user to dial things down to 60Hz when they want to conserve battery.
I think a part of that difference is because computationally, visuals scale better to 120Hz:
120 = 6 x 20fps (choppy video)
120 = 5 x 24fps (cinema-grade)
120 = 4 x 30fps (normal recording)
120 = 3 x 40fps (games that dip below 60fps)
120 = 2 x 60fps (full-speed recording)
120 = 1 x 120fps (realism)
....not to mention when slowing down high-speed footage backwards, ie 120fps footage into 20fps video, leads to a x6 slow-down (eg watch "individual water droplets" slow).

[deleted post]Probably not a lot. It's still 2 cm longer than an iphone 12 mini. So if people want mini, they'll buy apple's 12 mini which costs the same, has almost the same screen size but fits better in the pocket.
