I hope whatsapp will not make a chance to loose its users once and for all by adamantly moving with their decision of new privacy policy... Whatsapp rethink your decision.. Waiting for a positive decision..

Come on. Just accept the terms and avoid headaches. Every company spy on you. So disable your internet connection and live in a cave if you don't want to be spied.

Poh, 08 May 2021Already on Signal and Threema. Still debating about Telegra... moreThere are many articles on the net compared those two. And here are my take on it:
- Security: WhatsApp win. Because it uses a Signal Protocol which is highly regarded by the security community. And WhatsApp enable E2EE by default (but don't you turn on any type of back up, though). Telegram uses their own home grown technology, which, in itself, I don't think that bad, at least, until now, there isn't any claims about breaking their protocol, but why reinvent the wheels? The major down side, IMO is that it doesn't enable E2EE by default.
- Privacy: IMO, Telegram is on the win here. At least for now they keep everything to themselves, not sharing to anybody like WhatsApp sharing with FB. But, the amount of information they collect from you is no less than WhatsApp (or even more if you compare the information collected that they declare in App Store).

So, better stick with Signal. The best of both worlds.

The issue is social networking apps is they are like a snowball. They gain traction and then everyone gets on them. It takes time to then move over to other platforms unless there is some real benefit. It's going to be hard to move large amounts of people over to something else after they have gotten used to thinking "whatsapp is messaging". Yes people are installing signal, but unless you're getting regular messages on them you won't get used to them being your primary app for messaging.

Watsapp should be boycotted by all. They have become greedy, they are @ their knees under political pressure and they have forgotten to respect basic human privacy and right to free speech.

It's not just my parents that use it but my family in Dominican republic, their pastor, a number of their friends in church, and other family members that live in different cities. I'm not that special to convert them ALL too Telegram at least. Lol.
