The Zenfone 8 is smaller than the Xperia 5 III. The Flip is a Zenfone 7 with a Snapdragon 888 and a few other tweaks. Available for pre-order today.

They could have easily made it better than the vanilla one, just with the lack of IP rating which isn't possible. But they didn't, most probably they want it to be in less demand compared to vanilla. From what I've read, the liquid metal in flipcam is hard to produce, and not many suppliers make it, so it's hard for them to mass produce it. That might be the reason they are putting Inferior hardware in it, so that it has less demand, and if anyone wants to buy it regardless, they can. But I don't think it's a better buy anymore, last year's Zenfone 7 Pro was amazing, and one should get it over Zenfone 8 Flip if they can. It is as if Asus wants to sell less Zenfone 8 Flip, and later use it as an excuse to discontinue the lineup. Or they'll upgrade the hardware once their liquid metal supply chain gets better. The future of flipcam phone is in dark.

      Come clean and tell us what really is your gripe with this phone, because 4000m4h is a respectable capacity for a phone this size. Redmi Note 7 had same battery capacity despite its bigger footprint.

I mean you can buy any phone accordingly to your needs, but doesn't change the fact that Xperia 5 III is gonna be expensive (a UFS class microSD card will cost a lot too if you plan to add storage), and you lose on dual Sim functionality since it's not dedicated slot.

                  It doesn't mean the zenfone 7 is the better camera phone, it's just that it's photo tone is oversaturated, just like samsung phones.

                  Trust me, if the iPhone was as oversaturated as the zenfone 7 was, then the public would have chosen that. nothing to do with the actual image proccesing.

                  And MKHBD has proven that twitter and snapchat display photos differently. If both oversaturated photos that went into it, iPhone would have also won because the other photos would be too oversaturated, iPhone "just right" oversaturated.

                  You get it?

                    Finally a phone I can upgrade to from my old Motorola which is about same size as this phone. Almost got the iPhone 12 mini but now that there is a petite Android alternative to it I can buy this one instead

T... moreLet's see by the reviews, Asus ain't been the leading edge of camera technology either, but using last year technology even then they were not exact the best, by comparison, sony xperia 1 iii and xperia 5 iii has significantly improved their camera compare to last year model, however, I am presuming that Asus may want to target a more budget Target market than Sony flagship.

                                  Let's compare Xperia 5 III starting price and Zenfone 8 starting price. €930 VS €600. That's a €330 difference. And by the time Xperia 5 III goes on sale, Zenfone 8 will probably be on sale with discounts. Even if it doesn't, that's a €330 difference in price, and people are already crying that Zenfone 8 is expensive, like seriously. Even the ROG Phone 5 is cheaper than the Xperia 5 III, and if Zenfone 8 Pro ever comes, it'll definitely be cheaper than Xperia 5 III. And it's a phone for normal users, with a normal price. Only Sony fans (or ROG Users) can afford to buy a €900+ phones; Zenfone fans are poor.

The Sony still has a periscope telephoto camera, USB-C 3.1 with video output support, and a bigger battery. I'm not a Sony fanboy since I never use a Sony phone in my life, but I am definitely looking forward to this 2021 Zenfone-Xperia shootout.
