Rkm, 17 May 2021https://jp.sharp/k-tai/aquos-r6/photogallery/vtour/tour.htm... moreWow. Love the tour gallery style.
You were right about its portrait. Then again, those samples obviously looks edited for marketing purposes, maybe the original distortion for human face much more worse. 19mm is not meant for human portraits anyway.
Anyway, even it looks edited, photos looks super crunchy, contrasty without clipped highlights, natural details, great depth of colors. Very Leica-style looks.

It needs ... moreIt's a 20.2MP sensor and uses so called "HDR up-conversion technology" (which is most likely just a fancy name for interpolation) to record 8K video. And mind you, if you increase the number of frames taken at the expense of shutter speed of each frame, you'll have lower signal to noise ratio in your final photo for the same total exposure time due to read noises. Lack of OIS also affects the sharpness even if the exposure time is short enough (See Mate 40 Pro vs Pro+) especially when the lighting isn't sufficient.

EIS is much more effective, the only issue is the crop that reduces quality.

Edit: ok you already talked about this, I didn't know we could do shorter exposure in videos, does it mean the videos is going to be darker?

Here's the sample gallery. Landscapes are impressive, but portraits have that ultrawide distortion ie, face looks weird.

I saw that it says 8k 5G. 8k is 33.1MP for phones, and EIS should leave atleast another 3-5MP for stabilisation. Which probably means it's a 36-38MP sensor(?)

1" sensor with 4:3 ratio has exactly the size 5x larger than 1/2.6".
About 120mm2 area.
GN2 probably has about 90-92mm2.
