Just FYI Guys when u see 1" sensor it isn't the 2.5cm, it's actually 1.6cm. Something to do with old film and cathode ray tubes.

Kudos Sharp! I'm curious about the price and battery life.. Would loved to see that in global markets..A company that targets only in Japanese market is able and wants to produce something like that.. what about the global players?? Nowdays Customer loyalty is a mess in my opinion.. we buy something because we want to belong somewhere and no because it satisfies our needs .. with exceptions of course

There is a reason cameras and lenses have aperture. If you can't change aperture, only shutter speed and ISO can be changed. You can only go so low with that.
Depth of field issues aside, there will be actual exposure related issues.
Just do some research before calling someone on the internet wrong.

I wish more manufacturers, especially in the midrange segment, would go for one good camera instead of padding the stat sheet with garbage sensors

I mean sony rx0 is only f/4 and people still use nd filters, so you can imagine what this will be.

Or simply Sharp decided to cut the corner there to reduce costs, or didn't want to increase the camera bump thickness too much.. or maybe both. EIS only works for video and will never be able to compensate for the lack of OIS especially when shooting still photos.

Lg would like to h... moreI said "Korean is great at marketing it."
They know how to sell the tech in their product.
To a point even insignificant tech update could look impressive.
Japan sucks at it and combined with shitty pricing, no wonder the Korean ate their market share for lunch.
Not to mention Japan (possibly due to their strong local market focus) are kinda slow at adapting to new trend. It took how long till sharp adopt big battery or all around thin bezel?

I am curious to know the complete specs of the Image Sensor. Hopefully it's a brand new one with super HDR and dynamic range. The specs list is pretty impressive though its missing OIS, which means it's EIS should be good enough to compensate for that. The f/1.9 lens on a 1inch sensor is amazing.

Alpha, 17 May 2021The Japanese never joke around with Tech...Pioneers always!... moreJapan is good with basic techs or functional techs, but sucks big time at marketing it.
Especially compared to Koreans who excel in marketing it to a point the could greatly sell not that significant gimmicks.
Japan also kinda sucks at pricing, like Sony might have great TV but LG is 90% of sony tech at 70% of the price.

Interesting release. With the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer Foxconn as the majority shareholder it will be interesting to see if they make a big effort in the smartphone space as they should have good manufacturing capacity
