Assuming huawei has ties with CCP, it is still the better than all of the aforementioned companies working beside the NSA, CIA, DOJ.

Hopefully all Chinese/Companies devices will only run on Harmony OS in the near future..

Anonymous, 29 May 2021Great news. Finally an OS without CIA/NSA backdoors. In your dreams. CCP is much worse, no wonder Huawei was banned in other countries. Any device/gadgets manufactured inside China have to follow their govt.

blue.sun, 29 May 2021It won't be accepted by any other than Huawei/Honor. A... moreNo, this could be actually a very solid choice for Chinese manufacturers from risk management standpoint. It can run Android apps, but app developers can choose not to and rather develop native Harmony apps instead if they really want to. OnePlus' CEO seems to be interested in it and Meizu will release a HarmonyOS-powered product soon. With that said, it might take a while until it gets adopted to smartphones that are released internationally.

Roger , 29 May 2021Harmony OS will be a full straight on copy of Android. Ever... moreThey have recently released two versions of OpenHarmony 2.0 - one with Android subsystem, one without it. This comment makes no sense since it's built on the baseless assumption that somehow the entire HarmonyOS *is* Android at its core.

They have every reason to do so to further remove themselves from Western companies that have shown they cannot be trusted.
