Depending on your usage that could be several years of charging, however.

It's still lithium based, but I think electrode/anode used different materials to boost charging rates without creating as much heat. But don't quote me on that because I can't seem to find it.

If this is a new-gen battery, this is believable. But no thanks. I'd rather have it degrade much slower, since I don't trust replacement batteries to not be old stock / counterfeits.

Dont know who made the end of that statement in the article, xiaomi or arena, but whtever...that is an absolute promotional lie.

No, some phones dont lose 20% after 800 cycles.

But them dont use these fast chargers, and have battery care systems.

I lost only 18% of my battery after 4 yrs of use, charging every day. Thats qnovo batterycare.

So no, no thank you to fast chargers.

The super irony here as you say there is more degradation versus "Normal" charging

When infact normal charging WAS fast charging technology previously..

                    So the what is proven?

                    Proven across what standards?

What are the limitations of the conclusions that were met?

Is this claim of proven degradation universal to all generations and developments on newer battery technologies and charger technologies

                    What are the controlled experiments?

Every new charging speed usually has some new approach , regulation or protocol

"According to THEIR (OWN) estimates the battery should lose little under 20% of its capacity after 800 cycles, which is over two years if you do a full charge every day."

Heavy use entails more than a single charge per day. Plus this is according to Xiaomi. Independent tests, and actual user experience could be quite different.

This is why it's important to either replace the battery after 2 years, or move on to a newer phone. Irregardless of how fast the battery charges, degradation can lead to performance instability and extreme battery anxiety.

How fast you charge it after buying is your choice.
