Every dev that had their apps on Huawei's Chinese store will have their apps working on "HarmonyOS" since Harmony is nothing but Android, just like EMUI.

IpsDisplay, 11 Jun 2021I disagree as he himself does not understand what an androi... moreAndroid is emulation ran atop Linux, there was an OS developed by Alibaba called YunOS at the time that swapped the default Linux kernel of android for another but it still ran the same Android atop, I owned a YunOS Meizu phone it felt just like Android.
There was also the Blackberry OS before they swapped to Android it was Linux based and could emulate Android apps, but had a lot of compatibility issues.
I am quite sure HarmonyOS is one of the former, like YunOS, so it's just android, otherwise how can it run the apps?

It does NOT matter, if Huawei can't get chips.
USA is choking them and their mobile business to death.
China is still years away from their own, in-China cutting edge mobile Soc fabbing. So far TSMC has been doing it for them, but due to US sanctions nobody is willing to fab the chips for them AND they can't fab the chips themselves (not for some years still).

maybe it will take 2 years to optimize the Harmony OS, along with trusted security, good UI, and rich apps gallery.
And when the time comes, ill buy one of huawei flagship

maybe if google brings its application to HarmonyOs, maybe google can enter the china market through the application they made for HarmonyOs, but the possibility is difficult because it will not only deal with the government but also maybe google thinks it's enough to compete with ios

It's nice to see some new competition to Google and Apple. I wish Huawei all the best. It's probably a sleazy corporation, but so is Apple and Google.
I wonder if it's possible to sideload Android apks on Harmony OS? Would something like F-Droid work on it?
