For example, on this site there are plenty of Sony brand boys, yet the real worldwide sales are below 0.1% of total phones sold.

It can be had for a lot less through carrier deals, etc.
It also comes with Snapdragon over Exynos...so It's a better deal for US buyers.
I personally imported the MI 11 ultra at around $1000. Let's be honest, the Sony Xperia with last year's camera is a big NO at that price.

MI 11 ultra base variant available for as low as 840 Euros complete with charger in box, warranty, option to get EU ROM out of the box.

And I doubt the Xperia would do better. For starters the variable zoom quality is garbage from what I've seen, plus the stoopid 21:9 aspect ratio is a big no-no.

The Mi11 Ultra's European price is 1,199 euro which converts to around US$1,431. Probably many will buy the mi11 ultra at that price either though. It's often possible to get all these android flagships at well below the recommended retail price a few months after release though when they might become more attractive purchases.

My 200$ android phone can do 70% of what the xperia 1 III is capable of, at 15% of the cost.

Marcus Brownlee did a great video on the Xperia 1 ii where he praised the device but called out Sony's self-sabotaging release schedule where they announce a phone, hype ensues for a few weeks, and then... They wait 6 months to release it, totally letting the buzz die.
That video was released in 2020 and has 6.4M views. I guess no-one at Sony watched it, as they clearly haven't learned a thing.

In fact, I'm going to trade in all my Xiaomi phones, including the latest Poco X3 Pro, for this new Sony smartphone. I had a brief experience with the Xperia 5 Mk2 last year and it really was love at first sight for me.

Here in Malaysia, the Xperia 1 Mk2 was only available for sale in December 2020. By the time local tech reviewers made a review about it, it was already too late to talk about the chipset. It really does make me wonder what took Sony so long to sell their phones. I personally suspect that Sony first announces all the specs and everything but later mass produce the phone. I'm not sure if that's a brilliant marketing move, let's put it that way. Even LG doesn't do that despite the fact that they really don't sell their phones everywhere.

I never see that kind of situation happens. If anything, I actually see more Samsung users migrating to Sony instead. Very few Sony users moved to other brands, especially Samsung. The reason why people buy the Samsung is that Sony phones aren't available everywhere, so that is a dead giveaway. But I read a lot of polls and questions about choosing between the new top-tier Samsung and the new top-tier Sony, and you really wouldn't believe how many people would choose Sony.

Errr... that's not the reality I'm seeing. I remembered doing a camera blind test between Xperia 1 Mk2 and S20 Ultra 5G late last year and even showed it to my friends and even my families to ask their opinions. The result? Only a handful choose Samsung, and that's in full Auto JPG mode. I thought of doing RAW comparison as well, but I decided to scrapped it.

Seriously, Sony has to stop with these 6 months gaps between announcement and sales. People already spent their money on literally every other single brand out there. Only a handful of Sony fans and tech tubers are waiting for their phones.
