Why cant they retire drivers? Get Plug&Play and move on.
I hate Windows obsolete drivers architecture with a passion.
Never liked the setup page either on Win10. Ist so all over the place.
I started with MacOS almost 10 years ago and i will not return to Windows.. yet

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2021You cannot install windows 10 below a 7th gen processor. Co... moreCorrect! but Microsoft's Windows 11 does not explicitly support seventh-gen Intel CPUs. But then nor does it support any Intel processor made before the Coffee Lake generation. So anything Like Ryzen 1000-series or 7th Gen Kaby Lake range isn't listed as a win for Windows 11.
But put away that pitchfork. The lists of supported Intel and AMD processors for Windows 11 are long, but not exhaustive, and that also doesn't mean those chips won't allow you to run the new OS. This is the difference between something Microsoft calls the 'hard floor' and the 'soft floor' in its Windows 11 Compatibility Cookbook.
That's the difference between definitely not being able to install Windows 11 and just not being advised to. It certainly feels like an arbitrary cut-off for the CPUs concerned, and may simply just be where Microsoft chose to stop checking chips against Windows 11.
The announcement of Windows 11 has been met with both interest and consternation. On the one hand, the excruciatingly earnest 'What's Next for Windows' livestream showed us a vision of Windows 11 as an open, good-looking update to Windows 10, with more than a penchant for gaming. And it's effectively free.
On the other, we had a Windows 11 Health Check app that seemed to be telling PC gamers, with monstrously powerful rigs, that their machines weren't up to the task of running Microsoft's next-gen operating system.
So having a long list of supported CPUs, that seems to miss out any silicon not born longer than four years ago, is just another knife in the heart.
however, According to extremetech.com, Windows 11 May Not Run on Skylake-X,(Sixth Generation) or lower or Any Pre-2016 Intel PCs

OfficialTRider, 26 Jun 2021It should be left (it can be easily done by clicking on a t... morePeople were also used to phones with hardware keyboards, yet we moved to phones with on-screen keyboards; phones with physical navigation buttons, yet we moved to software navigation buttons; phones with software navigation buttons, yet we moved to ones with swipe navigation. So?
People were also used to manual gear selection, yet we moved to automatic gear selection; to CDs, yet we moved to set-top boxes and dongles. And the list goes on.
Come again with one logical reason why it must stay at the left, because the one you gave was weak af. Being afraid of change isn't an admissible reason.

Cyberchum, 25 Jun 2021Give me one logical reason why it must be at the left? Go b... moreIt should be left (it can be easily done by clicking on a toggle in the menu) because the people who are old and using Windows since the 90s are used to it. Even people in the offices are used to it. It will create confusion amongst them as they are reluctant to change. Even Microsoft knows this that is why the feature is already there to move the start button and menu to the left.

OfficialVG, 25 Jun 2021But I thought Windows was like 10 is the last. Obiviously the world did not end after 2012 like in the prophecy so now its 2021, after 9 years they probably decided to give Windows another go and let it continue.

Go back to the days of menu/app drawer buttons/icons on phones, before swipe up took over, were they usually on the left or on the right? What about dashboards? Are they left-aligned or center-aligned?
But wait, wouldn't the option to move it to the left be on W11?? So, wtf are you bickering? If you don't like it in the middle, push it to the left ffs. Stop complaining over nothing.

WindowsPTSD, 25 Jun 2021I cant recover from the trauma I suffered using Windows. Si... moreSuffered same fate. During the update 2014 or 20h1. Installation deleted the bootloader, rendering my pc totally useless. Tried rolling back to restore to previous condition before update that got black screen instead (not blue). Thought my monitor died. GOOD thing I had 2 pc not one and confirmed it was not monitor issue.
Suprisingly this was a legitimate rolledout update from MS to my pc.
My advice is to never install any newly released OS or approve updates on your good pc. Give them a delay. They always roll out buggy updates and OS every now and then.
Here's why.

Hope you recover from the trauma..cheers

The fact that you cannot move the taskbar to be vertical on the side of the monitor is a deal-breaker for me atm. A taskbar at the bottom of an ultrawide monitor just takes up too much real-estate compared to having it on the side. I also hope that the apps in the startmenu can be customized/organized properly, also remove the recent document listing, and remove the bloat like teams, cortana and such. Also the fact that you will need a microsoft account bothers me a lot.
