Android apps on Windows 11 will work with both Intel and AMD chips

25 June 2021
They'll also naturally work with Arm hardware, but that remains to be detailed.

Maybe upgrade your PC with 2gb RAM to a minimum 4gb

SpiritWolf, 25 Jun 2021Oh, Windows 11 can run Android apps? So Windows 11 is Andro... more...here we go again. Let's just get some things straight, shall we?

In case you don't know, by definition, a 'fork' is a project that's based off upon another. To quote github, 'fork are used to either propose changes to someone else's project or to use someone else's project as a starting point for your own idea.' It doesn't matter how much huawei tries to pass off harmonyos as "not a copy of Android, nor is it a copy of iOS", evidence says that it IS based on android. It's not about whether it can run android apps or not. The whole thing is build off upon android 10 AOSP (and no, the absence of GMS and play services means nothing, the AOSP codebase itself is devoid of them because they aren't open source. Google licensed them. This is why you often come across custom android ROMs that doesn't come with gapps, because they're separate.), hence why it's called a 'fork'.
Look up Ron Amadeo's article on arstechnica about his analysis on the harmonyos sdk that he got. Huawei quite literally just replaced all references about android 10 in their os with "harmonyos". No, it's too elaborate to be a made-up lie, the writer cites a lot of sources to back his statements, and arstechnica is the go-to site about tech news. No way they'll approve that article if that's just a massive sham. Also, remember when gsmarena reviewed the matepad pro that got released this year? Read the software section, and you'll see some more proof.

And the situation here about windows 11... No, its ability to run android apps doesn't make it a 'fork' of it. It's called a 'compatibility layer'. They did the same thing with linux, the "windows subsystem for linux", that allows you to natively run things like the bash shell and install linux stuff in windows. Did this imply that windows is based off of linux? Of course not.

            That clear enough to you?

so my guess lot of pc will support win 11 when it come out, its just that health program is buggy.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2021Will GMS dependent apps work?probably not, as long as it doesnt use playstore GMS wont work.

but Harmony its android, many developers proved it and it doesnt come from one source.xda, arstechnica etc proved it.

I've always said that Windows and Android is a good couple. Both compatibility and usability are great. No Apple for me.

Article says Intel 10th and 11th gen and AMD CPUs. That means Intel 9th gen or older can't? Are there any specific generations for AMD?

Today I browsed the Windows 11 CPU compatibility list and saw that Intel 8th gen and higher and AMD 2nd gen (and 3xxx APUs) and higher are supported. My 1st gen AMD APU isn't present in the list.

Later learnt that it's a recommendation, the CPUs not in the list are not advised to run Windows 11.

Also there's the PC Health Check App thing, that shows PC not compatible for Windows 11 when you've TPM disabled from the BIOS.

                                      Things are kinda confusing.
