This high resolution sensor should offer high quality digital zoom up to 4x. And it will have the S888 successor to do the number crunching.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2021You are talking about details and noise on an image that�... moreA table with glossy surface can still show very detailed patterns underneath the surface, because a thin coating shouldn't magically make the table look like a one entirely made out of plastic. Both phones do capture these patterns on the left bottom corner of their photos but Xperia smudges the rest of the table just like it did the pot and the leaves. Again, inconsistent texture rendition from Xperia like I pointed out in my previous posts.

Google's HDR is extremely robust to misalignment between frames and have no problems handling such details accurately, that is why they are confident enough to keep it on all the time unlike Xperia which rarely activates it.

The OP of the reddit post you found these photos from says that the details are sharper on Pixel, just as obvious as a billboard if you look at how much more textures Pixel managed to capture on the pot, leaves and the table surface on the foreground compared to Xperia which turned them into waxy mess like Samsung phones do. Since this is the main subject we are talking about, we can rule out the difference in DoF caused by the difference in sensor size. In capturing as much details as possible, Pixel is clear winner.

                    Xperia also fails to capture the tone of the wood consistently, heavily desaturating the right side of the table while keeping(or emphasising? Cannot tell because the OP only mentions colors of the pot)the strong red tint on the other side. Also I should not forget to mention how much more compression artifacts are appearing in shadow regions on Xperia's photo.

                    The worst part of your logic is that the OP was using Pixel 4a, a $350 mid-range phone that uses older version of HDR+ processing instead of Google's latest greatest Pixel 5. Thank you so much for proving my point, I cannot wait to see Pixel 6 destroying so called pro grade smartphone camera with a single shutter press.

                          Where is Sony if camera in phones ? I think a bit behind, they stick out. NOKIA ? its HMD Global/ chinense brand. I past they have one of the best cameras. Nokia 808 Pure View was great and it that time they show something what all companies doing right now. But they have been criticized in the past for how big is the camera on the back. Now Apple, Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi now they are doing the same.
                          So where is Nokia, LG, Sony (far behind), old Motorola (now Lenovo), HTC...Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and maybe BBK (Oppo, Vivo, OP).

                              You'll have to be specific:- in which area is the mobile better?

                              Dynamic range, shooting versatility, low light performance and general colours, are some areas in which any big sensor camera takes the cake.
                              Some other factors might favour the flagship cell phone, but are those really way more important than the factors above...? is the question we must ask ourselves.

                                1. Nokia 3310 doesn't have any of the features I mentioned. I have no idea what brought that into your mind. I own a LG G8x and I'm happy with it.
                                2. Removing features is a dumb, not a 'smart' thing to happen. It will always be so. Gimmicks they'll be for you, not for others here. For example, I use all these features I mentioned.
                                3. I know a typical flagship smart phone costs under $200 for materials, but who will account for marketing costs, employees' salaries, distributors' margins? And, why did you even bring that here, I didn't even mention anything remotely close to it... This is crazy.
                                If your point is that you think removing my mentioned features will cut its price, do the math. It won't, by a big margin. 3.5mm jack, microSD slot, what are these costing them anyways?
                                4. I never said I accept everything as it is, but why should we accept anything that's a little of a compromise to the older versions?
                                Go to Amazon. You yourself know majority of high quality earphones and headphones need a 3.5mm jack. Complicating things with an adaptor in middle is so not needed.

                                With all due respect, I really think you need a psychiatrist or you need to read carefully. Either of two. Most points of your reply and my original post aren't even remotely connected. Anyone reading my post can confer this.

                                  it removed the red from both table and chair and it made the wooden table look like matte open pore wood but with some weird reflection of the pot. Pixel's reliance on algorithm has failed here because it couldn't recognize the subject
