Rumor: Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will have a completely invisible under display camera, rear display

07 July 2021
The display will have 1080p+ resolution and only two curved sides. The secondary display on the rear will be larger than Mi 11 Ultra's display.

There ISN'T a single solution which is better than others (there are better implementations, like disappearing cameras being much better than underdisplay cameras), a market where something replaces other things while not being able to provide the same functionality is an awful market.

And if it could kill the front camera for once and for all, it is a good thing.
Pop up and flip up are the best alternatives to second display on the back, I like my Poco F2 Pro's pop up.

As usual with the trending solution in the smartphone industry, it is the worst of all the way to make it.

If you don't like that, just don't buy it.
Many, myself included, couldn't care less about that, I prefer a phone without those useless selfie camera and horror hole/notch/underdisplay camera over a thicker phone, which I prefer anyway.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abpi7koE6w4

And Xiaomi and Oppo detachable wireless main camera module concept :

Though the good point of those is the upgrade capability:

Exactly like what is happening in this comment session.
From constant spitting on phones with a second display on the back and all the lies about the pop up fragility despite only very few ever having issues, it creates such a bad reputation and image that they disappear.
Which is EXACTLY why now OEMs don't even care about user opinion, because they can't tell what is GENUINE complains and people who just hate anything that isn't especially made for them.

How many situations require for you to see something AND being seen at the same time, when it is someone else who show you something.

And if you want to see something in details, why use a phone when things like tablets and laptop exist and are MADE for this?

And again, just don't buy such a phone if it doesn't suit your need, it isn't because it is not for YOU that you need to spit on the concept.

Anonymous, 08 Jul 2021Looks like rear displays will be a staple for Xiaomi now...... moreI'd click the occasional selfie. It's great in low light where all other cameras fail to deliver good selfies.
Mi 11 Ultra with its rear display is putting those mammoth Ultrawide and main lenses at your disposal, complete and with flash and everything. I think they would be super useful inside night clubs, where most of the smartphone cameras are delivering average quality selfies.

Other from that, I don't use it much, I've put "Android King" image on the back.
You'll definitely meet people asking you about it.
It's an eye catcher, something different from all the other phones on the market

For video calls, I use front camera as most apps have it locked at 1080p resolution.

Although, the rear display is handy when phone is placed on a table or something.

I like it and i never use the selfie camera. So, perfect for me but... Release a cheaper version later under the name of Mi Note 11 with a mid-range SoC and i'll all in and purchase. This one will be too expensive and the SD888 is not that great, too much power hungry and to much heat when its power performance is needed. Also with a 5x optical telephoto camera.

Anyways good design. That is what i want. No punch holes or notches and great rear cameras.
