Rumor: Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will have a completely invisible under display camera, rear display

07 July 2021
The display will have 1080p+ resolution and only two curved sides. The secondary display on the rear will be larger than Mi 11 Ultra's display.

Front camera is for not important, make it invisible and put the worst sensor available for 1500E phone.

At least make that hole back rotate or GTFO.

Few steps back and main cam can capture same amount, with better quality + less distortion.

One extra screen means the display + connectors + software + protection .
It costs much more than front cam.
Why not just doing small bezel like Sony or Meizu 16 series instead?

                      1) The underdisplay camera is stupid, and even with improvement it won't magically see through high resolution anyway, it is a doomed tech since the beginning.

                      2) The pop up camera was a great alternative and is missed by many.

                      3) Other alternatives like the Asus Flip up, Slider, no front camera + second display on the back, and of course the great and simple bezel are missed by a lot of people.

                      4) Whatever is the solution, except the pop up which is actually fine but has haters spreading lies about it by talking about it as if it would break by breathing near it or will die if there is more than 5% humidity in the next country, every front facing camera has its cons and in the end it is just a bunch of limitations that prove we would be better by just yeeting this, for example detachable main camera module that can operate wirelessly would fix every issue while opening new possibilities.

New guy, 07 Jul 2021When you consider that most people nowadays take selfies wi... moreThen they have literally 99.999% of the market still available to them then.

There are also a ton of people who want a phone with no front camera to finally appear, many who wouldn't care if it has one or not, and many who would rather buy the phone for the rest of the specs if they like it (and the price) and use the secondary display than prefer one they don't like as much just for filters.

There are still a huge amount of people who don't care at all about selfies, video calls, filters and those other gimmicks.
In fact, there are people who never use the front camera at all, a significant amount of people some don't even use the main camera or would be more than happy with the cheapest 5Mp sensor as a main and only camera.

So yeah, let phones without front camera become a thing, there are more people than you would ever believe that would buy it (provided the phone itself is descent).

Anonymous, 07 Jul 2021To increase even more price? Much better to ditch stuff... moreIt won't add much to the price, there isn't a need for an extremely high resolution and framerate for the secondary display, and sometime smaller display can cost more because of the component shrinking.
Besides, the horror curved edges and useless underdisplay camera cost much more than any secondary display, so just using a secondary display as a replacement for the underdisplay camera would drop the price already.

And well, the Ultra-Wide is the most popular secondary sensor, and while I am happy with a 60Hz display people nowaday demand high refresh rate and 90Hz is barely enough for them, and while I also prefer slo-mo to high resolution, 8K is, for some reasons, super desired, despite no one having a 8k monitor nor taking advantage of this for editing.

Take the Mi 11 Ultra or this one, gave them a flat display, a 3.5mm Jack, remove the front camera and just make the rear display slightly bigger (though this one is already much better tan the MI 11 Ultra who was way too small), and for this one just don't get under 12Mp on the Ultra-Wide and put a 12Mp minimum and 2x or 3x Telephoto, and if a Macro is involved, simply make sure it has a 7Mp or 8Mp TeleMacro, and it is the perfect phone!

                              It should be 5000mah

I like how the phone looks, and it is good to see a secondary rear display, which in this case will be little bit bigger than the one on the Xiaomi flagship.
