Prestigio PAP 5000 DUO, which is rooted and runs Android 4.1.1. Battery deformed a little bit and the back cover broke so I had to tape it, and battery reading is awful: It would either drain blazing fast, shutdown at 70%, or offline charge for 5 hours and when you boot up it only shows 3%. You have to leave it charging for a while to maintain the battery percentage, otherwise it instantly drops to 1% or 0%. It also says that there is 2 sd cards in the phone, one being a file portion of the internal storage and one being the actual SD card. When you insert a SD card, third party file managers would think the SD card is main storage, and vice versa. The top portion of the screen stopped working, so I can only open the notification panel with an app or in landscape mode. When you switch the language to Serbian, then open Bluetooth advanced settings, some parts of the screen show in Russian for some reason. The "quick boot" option does not work when there is an Sd card in the phone. Headphones do not work properly and equalizer bass boosts music. The camera does not work properly and the whole phone shuts down after using it for a while, and the camera quality is 0. Flash works properly though and has the option to adjust the brightness of the light which Xiaomi does not have even in android 12.

Ah, yes, Android 4.1 Jellybean. My first phone actually ran w/ICS out of the box. when I heard it was going to be updated to 4.1, my excitement went off the roof. I recall I was so excitement mostly because of Project Butter and Google Now. I was always fascinated with Siri and Android finally had an answer, somewhat, in the form of Google Now

This is what made me stay with Android, tinkering with it using custom ROMs and such. those were the days, brings a lot of fond memories.

I still have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 inch running android 4.1.2 jelly bean completely fine, it does needs somekind of "warm up" before you can use it without lagging. Although you cannot watch youtube videos on youtube app anymore but you can watch youtube on chrome app on 360p max without lagging/framed drop (i think you can still watch some videos on youtube music app too if search on search bar and you can watch offline videos if you have youtube premium). Even though many apps is "out of support" but still, android 4.1.2 jelly bean on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is one of the best thing in the world !

Still using a Huawei Mediapad 7 youth 2 with Android 4.3 and works perfect

VankoM, 12 Jul 2021Galaxy S3 is still lurking somewhere in the drawers. It was... moreThat phone had to be flashed with a custom-rom just to be usable. Stock one was very sluggish (and looked horrible too) and offered a slightly worse battery life too. But sure, the first few days were just learning how to use such a "big phone". Years later (like back in 2019 or so), I stumbled into a working S3 - gave it a quick test and couldn't deal with the small display anymore. Especially typing was a nightmarish, I'm happy that now there are many big phones to choose from.

when it was JB era, my money could buy a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3. if that amount of money is being spent today, I can buy Redmi Note 9 6/128 GB. for those who read this, you could compare both of their specs. imagine being me, how pathetic it could be

AnonD-1003038, 12 Jul 2021It's the same on Android. Also iPhone is now 11 years ... moreIt depends. Almost all apps are installable on my 6 years old Samsung S6 Edge.

Kingslayer, 11 Jul 2021It's good that Google will soon do 5-year updates like... moreIt actually depends on the developer.
If they wanted they could continuing supporting old versions (like WA), but obviously is easier and marketable (and makes sense considering the vast majority are running later versions) to focus on the latest and greatest.

It's just going to happen one way or the other. I still have Huawei Ascend P7 and while it's within specs and actually has Lollipop (5.1.1) update, there are already several apps that just don't show up anymore on GooglePlay. Phone arrived with Kitkat (4.4). Literally just 1 update and then it was stuck on that through all these years.

I wish both GooglePlay and App Store showed app anyway, but told it's not compatible and what OS versions are supported so anyone can at any time check if it's still supported or not. I already had iPhone XR at the time and used Ascend P7 for few days to see how it is living with Android again so it wasn't that big of a deal, but if you get an old used phone and want to use it, it's a gamble and you can't really check things to be sure.

Back when the industry was rapidly developing with big leaps made each year in both software and hardware. Good memories.

No active JB devices anymore from my end.
My grandmother is currently using a Kit Kat 4.4 Galaxy Mega actively and that's the oldest Android running in my household as of now. She dosen't want to relearn the new UI so she dosen't want to upgrade.

I do have many inactive devices ranging from 2.1 to 7.0 tho.

My memory of JB is installing Cyanogenmod on my Xperia phone. The main feature that made me switch to a custom ROM was that JB had support for using the front camera for video calls (Skype)
I also still have some old apps in my Google Play account that crash when you run them on KitKat and above.

Back in 2013 I had a Download Manager app that'd let me download music on my iPhone 4. Few weeks ago, I logged into my iTunes account & poof! App is gone. Similarly, I wanted to download Gameloft's 2012 golden title Modern Combat 4 & the game was nowhere to be found. On my OnePlus Nord (running Android 11) I'm able to play this beautiful game in both its glorious campaign as well as multiplayer & even LAN. Yeah! A moment of silence to LAN support. Here's hoping it'd nake a comeback one day.
