          Proof that it's "definitely bigger", because we are working with speculation rn. You can't claim it's definitely bigger without actual evidence. It's not about me being lazy, it's about being realistic, I never made a claim that it's gonna be smaller than the hm1, I just assumed that it's less than 1 inch.

            The only phone back then that had a 4mp camera was the HTC one and I don't remember any android phone back then with a 40mp count. Sony was the highest among flagships with its 20MP count. It also had a bigger sensor if I recall which also helped it compared to the HTC. The Lumia 1020 had a 41MP camera sensor, but that had a huge sensor, and it wasn't even a QB sensor and had more than 1.0um sized pixels.

            This is a different situation because of how pixel binning works, and the sensor size. Not because of purely MP count. We don't know how big this new 200MP sensor is, if it's big enough to house all those pixels without decreasing size too much then good on them.

            If you have a phone that can do 8K video, but you can't view it in 8K it's a pointless feature. You can create memories without 8K video as well.

Sony said this is the reason why they didn't make any phone with 8k video recording.

Its not about fight of 12mp vs 108mp, its more like who dare to do it right or do it so-so but still sell a mountain of phones because just pure hw is so good / better than last one. There is also difference if you sell a phone that can do 8K or it cannot, no matter how its useful to you right now. Also imagine most cameras cannot do this, its priceless feature for that money, its like pro's haven't got this but you can create memories anywhere using device from your pocket.

                              No going back, more pixels are better for photography as after removing noise you are left with more detail, its true also in full size cameras.
                              Besides better stills and 8K, it removes needs for close tele like 1-5x. I'm also interested how raw shooting will progress, stacked hdr raw is something most full size cameras don't have so its getting closer in quality - also the reason you see more and more people using phones for certain occasions instead of dedicated camera.
                              Got to say poor sony, so left behind the world of stacking, while others go to wonder which generation.
                              If its certain that Xiaomi will come with such sensor, there is a little reason to let them steal all the limelight.

                                I agree but doesn't mean having 200 MP in a tiny sensor provides much benefit since they would have to shrink the pixels more to add all of them in there.
