cozxta, 30 Jul 2021Oh Motorola, my country Brazil is your biggest market, you ... moreSamsung has been the #1 since 2013.
When they were updating to new android in april/may of next year.

If people cared so much about updates, vivo would be gone.
    By far the worst.

KondriX, 30 Jul 2021Honestly most people don't give a clue about updates, ... moreI think that's definitely true for people who spend less than $200 or for some people who just buy whatever phone their carrier rep told them to. I think a lot of those people prefer NOT to have updates cause it changes or messes stuff up. But for people spending $500-$700 outright on a Moto phone they would have had to research to have ever heard of it in the first place - those people know what a sham one Update is. If budget Samsung phones don't get 2 OS updates, they at least get 3 years of security patches. My wife is not interested in phones but swears by Moto's software and would hate to have to "get used to" anything else or abandon he chop-for-flashlight. But it's getting to the point where she even recognizes that she might have to leave Moto for someone that will actually support her phone for longer than a year or 2 (if you wait till the phone is on sale, sometimes you only have a year or so of security patches left).

Oh Motorola, my country Brazil is your biggest market, you are the second most popular brand here, but you will lost our market year by year, Samsung is top 1 and markets their updates, and the software support is one of the things that makes Samsung to be so popular here.

Honestly most people don't give a clue about updates, the majority don't even know what version of the Android they have. As long as the phone is working, almost no one cares. And usually Moto had a lot of custom Roms for their phones, so I see no problem here.

Well not too bad though. Even without updates android is much better than the fruit

That is the annoying thing with Motorola, they are really good phones, but the updates are terrible,I've had the Moto g5,g7 plus, and now the Moto g8 plus, which hasn't done the android 11 update on my g8 plus, but they have done the update on some of there cheaper Moto g phones,

I used my G5 Plus for around 3.5 Years. Motorola is just lazy in providing updates. My only hope for updates when using a Motorola is getting a better custom rom support.

I have never lasted a year with the same phone, so that policy does not affect me, it will come out with Android 11 and this same year it will surely have Android 12 and for the next Android 13 what else do you want? hahahaha the maximum I give to a mobile is 8 months after that I ended up getting bored and I bought another

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2021F*** motorola. I keep my phone for 5+ yrsI get bored with a phone within 2 years. After 5 years, even a flagship gets unusable.

Seriously, the audacity of this company to take such a step and come up with the 'reasoning' behind it. They should have never sold the company to Lenovo

Nice phones if wasnt for motorola fking up by not providing more updates and support, and by saying users dont keep their phone for too long. If you have trashy support and updates, like they do, of course ppl will get rid of their phones
