Now that Google has their own chipset for the next Pixel, Google should focus on giving timely updates for as long as Apple has done with iOS. Five major OS updates should be on the card.

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2021Pixel 6 duo has exmor, not isocell. Probably a variant of 766. Gcam V8.2 supports the saber (super res stacking) for Isocell, and the rumour says Google won't be using Exmor this time around.

Things Google are doing right this year:
1. Modern distinctive design;
2. Custom flagship processor;
3. Upgraded camera sensors; and
4. Bigger batteries.
They'll still spy on you and harvest your data but their phones will at least be more competitive this year.

Best part of those news came out months ago when these renders leaked. FIVE YEARS SUPPORT. Yeah, you can install Lineage but most people don't know how to do that.
App will required a certain firmware minimum for it to work. With iPhones, many apps require iOS13 which barely came out 2 years ago. With Android, you only need Lollipop from 7 years ago.
We can buy a smartphone and don't really have to upgrade until 10 years later. My iPhone SE came out in 2016 and I can use it for another 3 years. We can finally use a phone for as long as a decade.

OhNom, 03 Aug 2021"The only thing I'm curious to know, is this the ... moreLive HDR preview and dual exposure on Pixel 4 never arrived to Pixel 3 due to hardware limitation, and similarly Pixel 4 didn't receive Pixel 5's HDR+ with bracketing through the camera app updates. I'm assuming that there'll be a lot of features that will be exclusive to Pixel 6 series and end up not being ported to older Pixels or generic gcam mods.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2021Design on the back reminds me of the nexus 6PYep, it does look like it a bit.
Google seems to be serious about making the Pixel 6 a top-notch phone. If the cameras are as good as I hope they will be, it'll be my new phone.
