They just had to give a 12 inch display for maybe 30-50 dollars higher and it could kill the tablet competition.

Really wish they had a 4G version of the regular Pad 5. Would like more android tablets that have some specs to show for anyway. Other android tablets (except the flagshis and ridiculously pricey S series from samsung) are straight out trash.

I'm getting this when it's available in my country. This month I gonna get some extra money, I was planning to get Samsung S7/FE. But if pad 5 prices did not increased that much when it's available in my country I could also get a decent cheap DAP. And also getting POCO M3 Pro 5g for my father (and giving him my current mi pad 4+)...
Wait... Is there no sdcard slot, 3.5mm audio jack, and fingerprint !?

They’re good tablets and should be focusing on competing with other Android tabs
Not competing with apple as no one will choose a xiaomi over an ipad
Plus the mi pad 5 does not compete with the pro
If the minpad 5 and the entry level ipad are at rhe same price, I’d pick the ipad as it will have better support
It’s a tab at the end of the day

If it did had its own optimized skin(interface) i would have loved to buy xiaomi pad 5 pro. But i still go with Tab s7 plus. Sorry MIUI isn't my favorite nor i think it's any good.

See how much Samsung is charging for the Tab S7 FE, both its Wi-fi version and especially the 5G version and then we talk.
It is a very good competition for the Tab S7 series and if Xiaomi agrees to update its operating system, as the Korean brand does, The resurgence of Android tablets will start giving the ultra-famous iPad (and its many variants) headaches in the future.

So dumb/silly release.....What makes them think they can compete with Ipad Pro or S7+??? Better focus on 8 inches Tablet segment, 300$ price range and they will outsell every shits including upcoming Ipad Mini 6 with ease....

I must say that I love the design though. The back design looks really elegant, also 10-bit displays are a must for all mobile devices so I really appreciate Xiaomi for putting 10-bit displays on these tablets.

To be frank, 50 MP on a tablet is a bit overkill, it's not even a foldable phone, just a tablet that is dedicated to function as a basic level laptop, I find this camera sensor preference ridiculous, decent level 12 MP main camera would be more than enough.
