And if privacy was ONLY about targeting ads, I wouldn't care at all, in fact I would play along, so I only receive interesting ads.
But it actually is far, far, far worse and critical than this, people have been killed, other have had their life ruined because of the lack of privacy.
Literally, it is the open door to let any government turn into a dictatorship, a lot of smart and important people have warned about it already.
Or maybe worse, think what will happen when brain-computer interfaces become mainstream and even mandatory in certain conditions...
Do you really want to let those doors open and help at making an ever worse dystopia than we already have?

To keep your analogy, I have absolutely no issues with people wanting it.
I have an issue with people and the side of the industry wanting that all cars suddenly get ONLY square wheels and to change all roads to jagged ones to make it more compatible, even if everything beside cars still use normal wheels and things like trucks and motorbikes, because of their heavy and light weight respectively and wheels sizes, can't implement such thing.

Disappearing camera on the other hand is quite simple and non-expensive.

Curves increase price as well. I have heard this can be up to $20-30.

This display type was invented by Samsung to get around the limitations of having a polarized layer between the display layer and the glass, to take away the glare it otherwise creates. So this, if it's half as good as they say, will change how displays are made. Not only OLED but also LCD, as all displays up to this date needs a polarized layer to make text readable in sunlight.
