Most modern flagship smartphones have eliminated the need for dedicated point and shoot cameras.
Only reason someone would carry a bulky camera is for professional stuff.

Bayer CFA is based on our 👁👁.
The other (white/red/blue/green, red/yellow/yellow/blue, cyan/magenta/yellow/green, red/blue/green/emerald(cyan) ) always have downsides. With DR or colour accuracy.
Oppo is not the only one now playing with WRGB. As I've heard, they are having issues with colours. Like Huawei had (you can see P50 Pro has much better colours than mate 40 pro) with RYYB.
Sony Semicon presented in 2019 a tech of wrgb, not sure if it is QB style.
It can output two raw frames , one rggb and one monochrome. Not sure if they stack later.

Most of old sensors were FSI, while current are BSI. This already increase light sensitivity.
Also, current tech has increased the amount of time photodiodes take to be light saturated, less crosstalk between them.
And obviously, the sensor will not be same size of those sony sold years ago.

Different color arrays than Bayer can lead to demosaicing issues. For example, Quad Bayer sensors have a lot of artifacts in their high resolution mode. The effective resolution is often only slightly higher than a Bayer sensor with 25% of the resolution, an example was the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with its 108 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor. Though, there are a few phones that can leverage the high Quad Bayer resolution.
Another example is Fujifilm's X-trans sensor, which can produce similar artifacts. Such artifacts can decrease the resolution dramatically, a 14 megapixel Bayer sensor with low-pass filter can indeed outperform a 26 megapixel Fujifilm sensor in areas with artifacts because such artifacts can lead to totally wrong details. Such artifacts occur in Fujifilm's jpgs and they also occur in the raw files.

Iphone 6s = 1/3" , about 17mm2.
Iphone 7 to 11 Pro Max = 1/2.55" , about 24mm2.
12 Pro Max = 1/1.76"
1/2.55" is 41% larger than 1/3".
Then you change f from 2.2 to 1.8.
This is why they claim more light sensitivity.
Iphone used to have main camera Exmor and secondary Isocell.
Since iphone 11 series, all are exmor.
