Sorry. It's the pro max too. In fact I've seen and heard about it more with the pro max.
Two that I've sold alone do it. And one is doing it again after being repaired already.
What's worse is they have to replace the screen to do it!

They obviously brought this us up because their intention is to fix these issues even beyond the warranty period. Again IF you ever owned an Apple product you would know this.

Apple offers a free replacement for a quality issue and Android fan girls go crazy. Maybe you guys should stick to complaining about the single OS upgrade you all get a year after Google released it. Everyone knows Android manufacturers wouldn’t fix an issue like this and would instead expect their users to upgrade.

Maybe their excuse is "you listen to it wrongly".
My iPhone 6 never had any issues, but this should be fixed under warranty. Especially when people pay so much for a device that can do so little.

What's important is they're addressing this. IF you've actually ever owned an Apple product you will know that issues like this will be covered well beyond their warranty period. Apple's customer service is the ENVY of the entire tech world.
So yes this is a great thing. You people can only wish Android OEMs do this.

In any case, this is awful. Expensive phones shouldn't have a serious issue about a very basic feature like this.

[deleted post]You don't get the point. He means that if an Android phone manufacturer sells defective phones, it'll be criticized. It's weird that you think that it's good thing. This is a bad thing.

IF they continued selling it there would have been even more disasters. THIS IS WHY THEY RE RELEASED IT MONTHS LATER AS THE FE WITH REDUCED BATTERY CAPACITY.
Do your research before you start telling stories.

Now, instead of apologizing to all of those unhappy customers with defective devices, Apple shows "mercy" and decided to repair those phones. Those devices are still under warranty, they should be fixed for free without a special repair program anyway.
This is nothing but PR saying "we care" without saying "we're sorry".

[deleted post]No, this isn't positive at all. If you sell defective products, you have to fix them for free. This is to be expected, and actually it's bad that you sold defective products in the first place.

They milked the whole "not unlocking the phone for FBI" thing for months when in reality, all the FBI needed was a low level hacker to do it for them.
FBI asked Apple, as that was the legal way to do things.
Apple instead bragged how FBI couldn't unlock the phone and that they protect people's privacy by refusing to cave into such situations.
