"Apple says that this imposes a risk to the consumer as the law undermines privacy, payment security and managing purchases will become way harder, while parental control issues could arise"
What a bunch of bullshit. I can't believe people always fall on Apple's lie

Very good South Korea. You have a lot of leverages which makes this decision quick and easy.

Good job, hope other countries follow soon! I am ok with 15% fee but why need to pay for opening a developer account ? Galaxy Store doesn't ask any fee so why Google and Apple do so ???

This is just going to make things messy and create more work for both the platform owners and developers with little to no benefits. Google and Apple will just move their fees to another part of the chain. They will create new rules that will give developers options to continue with the current arrangement or chose different pay option where they will have to pay for everything they use on the platform ex... want to use those platform tools to create your app $, want to publish to our appstore $, hosting fees, app review fees, bandwidth fees etc... at the end of the day nothing will change and those platform owners will still get their money.
Are people under the impression that Apple and Google will develop all those things and provide all those services for free? Don't be mad at those companies because you think their fees are too much, they are a ton of stuff we pay for in life we don't like (health care). The only way not to pay those platform owners is to not be on their platform, simple. "Don't hate the player, hate the game."

Imagine you are a building owner that rents apartments for persons to live in. In the beginning, everything is ok and the tenants pay their rent. Now the tenants want to remain in the building but without paying rent. Does that sound fair to you?

About time someone started this and of course those "poor" companieseffectively living of the cream for years will try to defend their position with some indiscriminate claims that it will affect the consumer.

South Korean app developers make some of the popular games including PubG so I'm not surprised they wouldn't want Apple and Google to just cash in and leach off their hard work. Some feeble excuse from Apple there as if their leaching off developers has anything to do with privacy.
