Mobilemaster, 02 Sep 2021You may be right, but there was a person or 2 here who said... moreSimply instead of joining 4-1 makes 16-1, joining 4 groups of 4 pixels giving the binning of 16, it is totally possible physically, it is not that the technology advances fast, the physics cannot be broken, which is not possible make a bining of 4 and want to make a bining of 9 with the same sensor

and so 200mp sensor with flagship chipsets make sense

P C M, 02 Sep 2021Samsung never used that sensor. So you are saying Samsung never used their own 108MP sensor? What are you smoking? Perhaps time for you to stop?

Xiaomi... Please use a 1" Sony sensor in your Xiaomi 12 Ultra... Perhaps the same sensors used in the RX 100 series... This gimmicky 200 MP sensor will not produce better IQ than any of the existing flagship sensors... I will then purchase two 12 Ultra's -- one for my mother and one for me.

I guess the main purpose of the HP1 is better digital zoom. Should be slightly better than a 50 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor, though there could be even more artifacts.

It's funny. Samsung never uses these crappy high MPix sensors in its own phones, instead they stay with good 12-16 MPix (and with much better image quality than all the chinese crap together).

                                    The 200MP is 1/1.22" , while the 50MP is 1/1.56".
                                    Difference is more than 50%.

                                    GN5 is not replacing GN2.
                                    It is alternative to imx766.
