Why GSMArena's Twitter account isn't verified

Some fans weren't sure which is the right account to follow, since ours isn't marked as verified. Here is what happened.

Today, this has become super ironic.

    Twitter's verfification "process" is a joke. Especially how they use it to put users into submission by threatening to take it away. Just because you take away someone's "verified" blue checkmark doesn't invalidate their existence. Which is why the way Twitter is treating blue checkmarks is entirely backwards. They don't use it to authenticate the user behind it, they themselves don't seem to understand why they have it in the first place. Telling GSMArena they ar enot "notable" enough proves that point further. Verification checkmark is to verify account actually belongs to some service, not to be "famous" enough to earn it. Makes no sense.

      "We can't verify the fact that you're you because you're not famous enough"

        Can we guys take a moment to appreciate what GSMArena does for the world. Making tech reviews that are fun, crisp and concise. And yes, who cares about Twitter verifications? Even the foolish of men and companies have verified handles. Legends must never mingle with them. Stay alone, stay unique. May this site and company run for years to come! Love you guys and your work.

            I remember I started to get crazy about tech the same time I started checking GSM Arena almost everyday when I got my first high-end Nokia phone when I was 15. It was the Nokia N70 :). I was crazy for customizing phones, editing apps and testing IPs and Ports to get free internet. (Anyone remember the opera minis and uc browsers? :D)
            You guys made me a nerd xd. Now, I am 30, I believe I still am one and I'm thankful for that! Because of you, I now work and make a ton of money doing nerdy stuff! haha

            TLDR? proceed here:
            Don't worry about Twitter. Nowadays, its just 50% porn, 30% twats, and the rest may be normal people. GSM Arena's the main reference anything phone-related imo.

              GSM Arena is not an American company, and it demos too many "foreign" brands. That's where the shoe hurts for Twitter; they have a policy to promote pro-American sites, brands, awareness, and markets.

                Oh my, Twitter have an agenda which is to suit themselves and any biased opinions are therefore going against their policy which contradicts what dribble comes out of their mouth.

                You guys are the first and foremost for all things info on the mobile platform.

                      Twitter is in an essence a social media platform just like FaceBook. Both started around the same time. Who copied who is anyone's guess. Mr. Zuckerberg claims to a great inventor however we have all seen how he handles competition.
                      The point I'm trying to make here is that you guys shouldn't worry about Twitter or Instagram or TikTok making you famous or not. These are traditional media outlets. If you get mentioned in a big newspaper that should be in my view a more notable thing since you yourself are from that era. I do understand that acknowledgement from "new" media outlets would further cement your name however that shouldn't be the point.
                      I have been following your website/blog since a very long time when very few people were aware of it (at least in my county ). You have done a credible job since your inception. I personally feel you can do much better. Keep up the good work!

I've seen blue checkmarks repeatedly post racist stuff, with no consequences. The thing is, what they posted was a corporate approved kind of racism.

                            why care, twitter is mostly a hate fest anyway, so, no big deal. your company is just one of the many millions that have not been verified. get over it.

                            oddly, if you start posting things such a orange man bad, and support for taliban murderers, then they might be inclined to then verify you. I am not joking.

                              Twitter verification is messed up anyway. Anybody can get verified as somebody in the past, so now they try to fix the issue.

As a tech site they should fallow all the mobile brands there is. Probably would get news from brands we pretty much never see in here and more news about brands we sometimes see in here but then these need to be really special and really stand out

                                    What Free Speech your talking about ? It's not free speech if you get banned for having your opinion on some matters that dont match with others. in free speech there is 2 sides good and bad and both are accepted in free speech. there is no free speech when only the positive is accepted and all negative get banned.
