      Does Oppo allow bootloader unlock?

nanagdad, 22 Sep 2021Only the bloatware of color OS that makes it bad. Oppo shou... moreI was able to clear most of the bloat on my Realme Q3 Pro with ADB, but for me that's not the biggest problem. Sure the OS is smooth, but the problem is that several things are implemented in non standard ways and there is no way to revert them back to a normal Android way. Custom power settings, custom notification settings, custom multitasking. Realme UI (ColorOS for Realme) doesn't allow me to set more than 5 applications to autostart. Why? If I want to zap my battery that's my prerogative. I'm guessing the issue is that since everything is non standard it's actually nowhere near as power efficient as vanilla Android so this is one way they're mitigating it. I can also see the difference in standby power use when compared to my Pixels. Even with these extreme power saving measures the Pixels come out way ahead in standby time.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2021Color OS is better than Oxygen OSOnly the bloatware of color OS that makes it bad. Oppo should give users to decide which apps they want to keep & should be able to delete the rest of the oppo crap apps

bajijus, 20 Sep 2021Does it mean the bootloader can be unlocked too for Oppo phones?Oppo Never. They value security or tinkering 😀

Anonym, 21 Sep 2021That's not an Android problem, it's a you issue. ... moreI wholly agree with your assessment of Android - the necessity to configure both Android settings, and to download appropriate apps for one's workflow. But for the vast majority of working-age people who are not in the tech industry, they simply neither have the acumen nor the time to perform this much needed initial setup.

So I would appreciate if you could share your presumed wealth of experience, by listing the Android apps that you use, from both the mundane (e.g., Word and PDF compatible apps) and the esoteric (e.g., app firewall, HTTP Sniffer, text editor for programming, file manager, etc).

I for one would be extremely grateful for your helpful knowledge.

That's the real problem with Android: while Apple has no trouble telling it straight to your face that "you are using it wrong" because our vision is the only true way, Android takes flexibility, customization, and individual experience to such an extent that if *you* make a stupid decision that breaks *your* workflow people somehow shy away from telling it's a *you* problem.

Your problem is very easy to solve: choose the right apps and take proper time to setup your environment. Android pretty much gets out of the way, if anything is broken that's because *you* made a wrong setup for your workflow. And no, developer xyz is under no obligation to make the perfect app for you -- it's the other way around, you are the one that must browse through the catalog and select the right app for your workflow. There is no shortage of those in Android.
