That lower end consoles are probably more powerful than your PC, if you had to change it so early. I can still render quite fast on my old PC.

You still don't understand my point, no point in arguing with someone who is eating from Microsoft's ads every little word. Enjoy your PC and don't forget to ditch it in 4 years, or ealier if Microsoft change their mind. Remember - Windows 10 is last major OS version from Microsoft.

Windows 10 works great on my ten years old laptop. Will try to bypass all blocks and clean install Windows 11.

Also can't edit videos and render 3D models on consoles. They last 7 years because most games are designed around those lower end consoles.

If people weren't cheap in the beginning, they would have PCs longer than 5 years. But I guess you are not in that groups, so keep buing cheap setups every 5 years.

One advice, Xbox and PS is better for gaming, lasts 7 years and both are cheaper. No point buing PC in that range.

You still don't understand, that you play Microsoft's game. If you are happy with buying new PC every 2-5 year, good for you. That way, I could buy PS and Xbox and ditch PC completely.

PC industry is not like mobile phones. You can actually upgrade it with parts you know? But which parts will be supported next year?

Again, people don't understanding how things work.

GAMIRSFM, 21 Sep 2021People still don't get that their computer can't ... moreSo, 5 years ago, I invested quite a lot of money to build a PC, that will be able to run games and all software for like what? 10-12 years before having to downgrade graphic setting, so PC will be able to run comfortably for 15-20 years if not breaking down mechanically.
What is a point of investing in high end PC, if Microsoft just happen to think, that he needs this and that and what? Upgrade processor? Is any processor now compatible with 1151 socket? No, so new motherboard at least.
This is effectivly killing the purpose of building high end PCs for many years ahead and Microsoft knows it. So is it really for security or to boost sales of new hardware?

I am still able to install Win11 without a TPM and Kaby Lake and older processors and it will still work perfectly and it always will. I am smart enough to understand that concept, which you seem unable to. I am also smart enough to understand that "if you don't like it, go look elsewhere" is the argument of the one that does not have any argument. If I do not like climate change, should I go on another planet? No, I should act to prevent it. If I do not like the current government, should I leave my country? No, I should vote or take other appropriate political actions to change it. I could go on but I dare hope you are begging to understand by now. I also hope you will understand one day that MS has never took the bad PR for hardware bans. They did for "security".

i7 should be more than enought to run PC normally.

It's a Ryzen Zen 1 CPU, and it supports all of the features required for Windows 11. Heck, the only thing it's missing is from the list of processors Microsoft supports for Windows 11.

The TPM requirement has nothing to do with the processor requirement. I only bought my laptop in 2019 and it's no longer supported? What absurdity is this? Am I expected to change my laptops every 2 years like how I used to with budget Android Phones, if Microsoft decides to stop using the WaaS development philosophy?

Do consumers even need this level of security? Even if you have the best security in the world, but you can't even tell a difference between legit and malicious links, you'd still get viruses on your PC. I've been using my PC without an antivirus for a year now, and it's still running perfectly, without adware and malicious software.
