Lol because Apple made it optional since its says your software up to date. Although ios 15 is sitting down at the bottom. Apple aware that ios 15 still not ironed yet.

I think it has more to do with not being aware of the update. If you are on 14.8 it will tell you that your software is up to date. At the bottom you will notice it say, Upgrade to iOS15. It's hard to spot unless you are looking for it. I wouldn't read much more into it at this point.

Danny, 23 Sep 2021You obviously dont know what you're talking about. App... moreIt is you who doesn't know. Just because the mechanism is in place, doesn't mean it's there with bad intentions to "slow down phones" so people wopuld rush and buy new one for 1000€. Just like it wasn't there originally, but whatever.

Two reasons for this: iOS 15 is just a smaller update, features wise, than iOS 14, hence the smaller interest. The second reason is the bigger one, though: when you go to Settings, Software update menu, iOS 15 doesn't pop up front and center (like iOS 14 and previous versions did). You have to tap a banner on the bottom that says "Update to iOS 15 available". I'm not sure why Apple did this, but it's clearly having a huge effect on iOS 15 adoption.

And with regards to the S2 running Android 11 lime "crap" there's an unofficial ROM for it that runs okay https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-unofficial-android-11-lineageos-18-1/
After tinkering with PCs and phones for years now, it's clear that unless there's a hardware issue, software will always run well no matter what. Case in point being running Linux on PCs 10 yrs old that windows can barely run on.

In short humans always want to newest, fastest, greatest new thing and these corporations have learned to usse rhat to their advantage. I respect Apple for using that to their profits even if it's not always the best move.

This is related to the Apple's in device file surveillance thing that Apple told to install in the phones from iOS 15. That is a serios violation of fundamental privacy rights. Though Apple later announced after huge criticism that they are not going to implement it for now, but who knows.

One major issue with IOS 15 is that it rolled back the ability to use 3rd party displays on iPh 11 Series, without the phone complaining, which had been 'fixed' back in late 14

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2021My Samsung S6 Edge isn't slow at all. In fact it is a ... moreCompanies don't slow phones down, they naturally become slower as more and more demanding OS updates and apps are running on it. It's why Android 4.x runs well on Galaxy S2, but Android 10 runs like crap on same phone. Not because it was magically slowed down, it's because OS just has more of stuff asking more from chipset which just can't deliver. And same goes for apps on top. But people don't even understand this and instead scream how there is this mega conspiracy where companies intentionally slow things down so we'd buy new phones from them.
