But customers will only loose because they have to pay more.
But in major shops there will be a sale or something like a promotion where you get a free charger if you buy a phone for 300+ bucks or so.
And for apple i will be only glad if EU can force them to USB-C. Had enough apple bad habbis for life.

Portless phones are the future. Data transfers from PC to phone can be through Wi-Fi Direct. Apple might do this maybe in few years although ZTE already put up a concept phone years ago

They have been trying to do this for years. Micro USB was meant to be the standard at one point.

Apple now claims that it cannot move on to USB-C port as it will create a mountain of waste cables but only if they switched to USB-C years ago then the waste would not even have to exist in the first place. All other manufacturers have ages ago moved on to a common port and cable except Apple. Guess who is creating the most amount of e-waste ?

Chargers aside, I got plenty of cables, usb-micro to USB, usb-c to USB, there is so much of them. What should I do with them.
Plenty of devices charge just using USB, but it's still too mach useless cables.

You are talking the top line, where the competition is not on the prize at all. Prices keeps creeping upward between versions, no matter if people get more usability or not.
But in the competitive segments it certainly matters. The lower the prize the more it matters.

I just have one charger and wherever I go I either carry powerbank if needed or the same charger. I don't think anyone would have 2 chargers to charge a single mobile.

My suggestion would be stop launching mobiles every year. Make mobiles phone once in a five year and in limited quantity that will definitely be good for the environment if any company is actually serious about making environment plastic free.
