So there's no reason to buy mac. Those who buy macs are not buying it for any logical reasons. They are just blindly following trend in their community.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2021Real tech people use their brain. And in IT environment it&... moreusing a brain means using inferior laptops at the price?

          Haha very funny.

Of course the corporate people are stuck using windows, they even took forever to even update their software to windows 10!

Tell me: what is the advantage of using a surface, thinkpad, HP, etc. with a core i5 processor compared to a m1 macbook air at the same price, which can run windows faster than them? What is the advantage?

You somehow turned people using a product with superior performance even AFTER running a different kind of software as an advantage for the inferior product? What mind games is this?

IT is simply too lazy to upgrade all their computers at once. They only stick to what's familiar, so that they can spend their mental capacity for the IT. Which is optimal for the buisness, but that isn't using their brain.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2021Efficiency maybe, but performance? Keep dreaming, boy. You ... morecinebench is fooling you.

Essentially, all the battery tests are performed when the windows machines never do turbo boost.

On the other hand, performance scores are when the windows machines are turbo-boosted.

Doesn't matter if M1 macs are a bit slower than the ryzen 7 5800h when there are literally 0 laptops with ryzen 7 5800h at $1000.

At that price range, u find intel core i5s and ryzen 5 series chipsets. Which get smoked by m1 in terms of efficiency and price range.

The upcoming m1x macbooks will deliver 17% faster performance than the ryzen 7 5800h(12788 cinebench vs. 15000-ish for M1X), while not turbo boosted AND being the same price as most laptops that have it. AND, the macbook will have a 120hz mini-LED display and support for various iPhone apps.

People buy windows laptop for their operating system. Mac OS feels like a century behind in terms of actual application support and other services.

These guys prefer that because they are familiar with that particular stock application on Mac OS. It doesn't mean that app is better, it's a matter of familiarity.

Rest of the people, which is the majority, steer clear of MacBooks as the video editing apps they want to work with are simply not available on Mac OS.

Even after so many years, MacBook simply can't compete with the Windows ecosystem of applications and services.

M1, same as any current top end ARM chipset. The X, is same as the Plus series. Next year will be M2 and then the end of the year they will offer and add the X. yawn.
