gg not gonna end well... as per usual ante up the budget for a battery case and a couple of faster chargers until... y'all might as well pick the higher models like that vanilla 13 instead.

If I want to use an iPhone solely as a secondary device for iOS app development purposes, I would definitely think of getting an SE. I'm not going to pay anything more than $500 for a closed-source mobile OS like iOS, so having a brand new iPhone with a $400 or lower price tag is definitely welcome.

It’s intention was to use a legacy design with updated internals (specifically the SoC) negating the need for an expensive R&D, re-tooling and new component manufacturing process. To be cheap was its main goal, well cheap as far as iPhones go anyhow.
That both SE’s thus far have been on the smaller side is merely a convenience of the legacy designs used. There’s no reason a future SE couldn’t be based around the Plus design, or even something like the XR, which wouldn’t be considered large by today’s standards. I certainly would rather see that and have the device feature at least usable battery life, as opposed to what the A15/X60 combo will do to the current configuration.

Im sure there are older people who are used to IOS and prefer touch ID to face ID. They wouldn't spend $800 on the regular iPhone.

Same design as the SE (2020), which means yet another recycled iPhone 8. I'd rather see Apple recycle the iPhone 8 Plus design instead. I still prefer the physical Home button with Touch ID over Face ID all day long.

Only Apple is brave enough to use Retina display instead of OLED displays like competitors. It must be painful for android users knowing how we still use superior Retina 60hz displays while they have to resort to some OLED display (inferior to Retina display btw) with 120hz. The human eye can't see beyond 60hz

Looks like Apple ordered too many parts for the SE because they thought the demand would be far outstripping supply. Well, the SE hype died down only after a few months and Apple was left with huge inventory of parts not interchangeable with other models it is producing...So, time to use those parts for another "new" model.
