Search up "Pixel Under screen camera". A mirror is placed under a transparent window leading to either an auxillary display on one side or a camera lens on the other side. This is by far the best implementation of an under screen selfie, and will make it sell even more including the hardware you said, and Google Tensor developing

If Google sold the Pixel 7 for $299 like the Nexus 4 and 5 did and sold the Pixel 7 Pro for $599 next year while eliminating their a-series, Pixels still won't hit the mainstream. It's only catered to phone geeks who watches techtubers all day long and visits sites like this.

It really doesn't matter what Google does. People only care about their Android software and their number of services. People don't care about their hardware products. It's a shame too because Pixels are my favorite line of phones. It may go defunct like the Nexus line did in a few years. The Nexus only got to seven generations.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2021Of course the number of cameras does matter. The 100 mm equ... moreAnd the leaks also don't indicate that the ultra wide angle camera had autofocus.

Pixel 6 for $600 sounds like a pretty good deal to me when you're getting an SoC that isn't considered mid-range level like the SD765G and you're still getting 128 GB, 8 GB RAM, and ultra-wide camera. The Pixel 5 went for $700.

Google pleases both demographics. You want the base model, it's only $100 more than a Pixel 5a and $100 less than an iPhone 13 mini. If you want more premium, pay $300 more which still makes it $100 cheaper than a Galaxy Z Flip 3 and iPhone 13 Pro.

It's a good move by Google. Still won't sell. Pixels are too niche. Consumers love Google's software and services but don't seem to care about tangible Google products.

It's no secret that they just change USD currency to EUR currency without adjusting the actual cost.

Ultimate Reviewer, 18 Oct 2021The number of cameras doesn't matter, it's the qu... moreOf course the number of cameras does matter. The 100 mm equivalent periscope camera might not improve the image quality at 25-99mm. The second camera of the Pixel 4 did not improve the image quality between 27-50mm.
And a 50 megapixel Quad Bayer sensor won't lead to as many details as the 64 megapixel Bayer wide angle camera of the S21. The leaks even indicate slightly that Google ignores the high resolution modes of the Quad Bayer sensors (hopefully not).

And no, Google's software isn't simply years ahead of the competition. The white balance is worse, Night Sight takes up to 7 seconds and often leads to slightly blurry images (HDR+ enhanced was better), the portrait mode depth map is terrible, portrait mode images can look oversharpened, portrait mode images only have an effective resolution of 5 megapixels, you can't adjust the intensity of the blur before taking a photo and the blur algorithm of Google Photos is worse than the blur algorithm of the camera app, the digital zoom is terrible (better than the digital zoom of the iPhone 13 because the iPhone 13 produces a lot of wrong detail due to machine learning, but still worse than traditional digital zoom as Google's zoom produces wrong machine learning details as well), ..

Marko, 18 Oct 2021599$ equals to 516€... But we have to pay extra 150 euros?? Why? Because the EU has higher taxes and often higher other costs to retailers. Most electronics are cheaper in the US.

And we all know google's camera software is years ahead of the competition. Combined this with great hardware and I'm confident that even the regular pixel 6 will have a better camera than the s21 ultra.

I don't understand all the negativity towards this news? If Google sold them for $5.99 and $8.99, people will still find a way to complain because it's too big, it's too ugly, it doesn't have FM radio, it has no microSD slot, it has no removable battery, it has no IR blaster, it's not Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Sony, HTC, or LG, et cetera, et cetera...

Durability (nagging issues) is a concern for Pixel phones otherwise pricing is just about fine for specifications - new & untested chip ..

"Those prices seriously undercut a number of the Pixel 6's competitors, like the $1000 Galaxy S21 Ultra or the $700 Galaxy S21"
The S21 Ultra has four cameras whereas the Pixel 6 Pro has three. The S21 has three cameras whereas the Pixel 6 has two. The 64 megapixel Bayer sensor camera of the S21 is actually like having two cameras because it lets you take high resolution Bayer sensor wide angle photos and also gives you a high angular resolution.

Hopefully it won't be another heater like SD888 or those Exynos following samsung manufacturing process. Snapdragon 870 is the only top chip at the moment after 865 & 865+ 😀

                                  Google Tensor (5 nm) 😀

Skeptical about the new processor Google is using in this device. Waiting for reviews

                                      Ain't that bad after all.....

Sounds about right for that disappointing cpu performance.
