With guaranteed four major OS update and stock AOSP UI alongside Google's great reputation for computational photography, I am so more than ready to sell my current Mi 11 Ultra for the new Pixel 6 Pro.

Razr 5G Fan, 20 Oct 2021Can't wait for the techtubers to show their fake enthu... moreHaha, I so can agree with that (😂). Mrwhosetheboss definitely comes to mind. So far, I only see less popular non-sponsored YouTubers that shows real enthusiasm for Pixel camera. Watch Juan Bagnell aka SomeGadgetGuy video about Pixel 5, it's in a completely different league.

I definitely like the vanilla variant because of the smaller flat screen, but 48MP telephoto sensor on the Pro variant? Bring on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and also the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. That will be a great three-way fight.

What really surprised me though is the official RRP of the Pro variant. I thought that it would cost the same as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G and Sony Xperia 1 Mk3 due to Google's nature of putting a really high price tag for their Pixel models, but $899? That's $100 less than the cheapest Samsung Galaxy S21. Heck, it's even cheaper than the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra for crying out loud!

Can't wait for the techtubers to show their fake enthusiasm so they can generate more money from their AdSense.

regs, 20 Oct 2021Phones are usually being used on streets or inside building... moreIt's not! For example a sunset. A 100mm field of view can be too small for capturing all the clouds around the sunset, a 24mm field of view can be too large for capturing all the details of the trees, buildings, etc around the sunset.
50mm is also very nice for portraits, whereas 100mm requires a higher distance.

visual, 19 Oct 2021Yeah, it's missing floppy drives too.You forgot VHS for shooting videos

I just found official full resolution sample images. Apparently, portrait mode still forces you to zoom 1.5x digitally according to the exif data and there are no portrait mode images with the periscope camera. Some portrait mode images look extremely oversharpened and look like digital zoom and other portrait mode images seem to look more detailed than previous Pixel phones. Not sure what's going on here. Maybe they use machine learning zoom for the portrait mode or maybe they crop 50 megapixel images for the portrait mode or maybe some portrait mode images didn't actually use 1.5x digital zoom.
Anyway, I just read an article from a reviewer who confirmed that there is no option to take 50 megapixel photos.

                        2x ARM Cortex-X1 cores at 2.802 GHz
                        2x ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2563 GHz
                        4x ARM Cortex-A55 cores at 1.80 GHz
While the two Cortex-X1 cores put Tensor ahead of SoCs such as the Exynos 2100 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the reason for using two Cortex-A76 cores instead of the more modern Cortex-A78 is not yet clear.

I mean pixel 5 had thick bezels and they seem thinner than Pixel 6.

The edges on the Pixel 6 are just too thick for a $600 phone. The front looks like a $200 cheap android phone.

AnonD-1023231, 19 Oct 2021We have HEIF formatAnd HEIF is a container format. Not image format. Image formats that uses the container are HEIC, AVIF, JPEG etc. You probably been referring to HEIC. But it's a paid format, therefore not popular at all. Only Apple using it. And there are almost no image programs supporting it. Even WebP has much wider support. AVIF is open source contender to HEIC. But it's not in the process of deployment yet.
