Ofc apple with thier totally good innovation and renovation by bringing a 60 hz lcd (while lcd isn't bad but) a regular midrange cam with no uw cam an 0 mah battery and giant bezels(unless the design changes this time)

Swordman, 21 Oct 2021Why not base it on like iPhone X/XS 5.8in design...A 5.8 will be much better or even the current version can be used that is 4.7 inches or by just moving the Touch ID to the side, the screen be slightly enlarged. Well the current size at 4.7 inches is fantastic too

Using this iphone in 2022 will be like using a vintage phone.

LOL! Who is this for?

If that’s true then it’s a good deal, 5G, new processor and software update support for more years plus a descent camera to play with

crazyyy when most android all use AMOLED 120hz, HDR10+ 1B colors, +400hz touch sampling and Dolby vision support in $400 phones and iphone still stuck basic LCD. when apple users realize this? waste money.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2021Ha, you bet punch hole, the new MacBook Pros have their sin... moreThat iPhone notch on the display of their latest MacBooks is just lol.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2021120Hz E4 AMOLED that is poorly calibrated and have issues. ... morei've a phone with that screen (been using it since may) and i'm yet to encounter any issue with it, its very bright and pretty damn good in the outdoors even with direct sunlight.

This will probably not be the case as the principle of the SE range is to limit the development and building costs as low as possible.
Using the XR chassis would already imply extensive redesign costs due to the move of the fingerprint to the side of the frame with additional risk that you might get a new "bend gate" issue. Also, moving the home button to the side would also imply that the notch would have to be redesigned, at least on technical level, as it would not house the optical and infrared equipment. Basically I don't buy this one knowing that Apple wants to maximize benefits with the SE range by putting low effort into launching a new version. Only, if they would see that the sales would drop below the point of benefits (or moving that way) they, maybe, would shift to a more recent chassis for an SE product or even cancel it all and rely only on the mainstream offer.

ABG Media, 21 Oct 2021Meanwhile android giving 1080p 120hz E4 amoled panel at tha... moreYES... but it doesn't have such a powerful chip like the A15. The chip is the single most important part of any phone and it is good to be as powerful as possible.

If the screen will not be so super small and the battery will last 24 hours then I will buy an iPhone again as my 2nd phone.

So, on an end user level, it is a better panel than your beloved OLEDs with cartoonish colors and barely bright enough to be visible on a cloudy day...

Swordman, 21 Oct 2021Why not base it on like iPhone X/XS 5.8in design...This would make sense actually

Then I mainly hope for a 5"-phone and a battery capacity of 2942mAh (or more) as in the iPhone XR.
