Entry level camera cost 100 maybe 500 not 3000.
And for 3000 any other brand can do better for one major reason they doesnt overprice as much as Sony and some other brands.

Glass is glass and its breaks, plastic is plastic and it breaks something like a quality plastic or quality glass exist but the durability is litterary same unless is bulletproof or something like that.
Fact has been said. Sony ggreatly overpricing. Litterary genuinely same device from a not Sony brand would cost half to make and half in final sale for customers.
Only Sony is asking 30 to ťé% more for a company logo on the device.
But the company logo doesnt add nothing extra its just a company logo.

    If brand like Cannion or Nikon can make entry level camera equal to this sony for half the price then why???
    And since when a 3000 eur device is entry level as the topics says.
    Same goes for Sony, Apple and Samsung.
    If for example brand like Xiaomi, Realme, Meizu or ZTE can make genuinely same phone with same specs and everything same for lets say 30-50% less price why is necesarry to ask twice the money or make final consumer product greatly overpriced.
    Like everything is made in china. Cost to make the device are 3-5 times less than final selling price. Other brands would sell for much less even if the product is genuinely same apart the logo of the company.

    My question just why???

    Most so called premium fashion brands are als made in china.
    Quality??? Where???

    And in case of fashion brands the manufacturing costs are really low.

Let me guess, you purposely expos... moreTo be fair, in many cases the "range" contained in the smartphone's JPEG is a lot wider than that in JPEGs from a DSLR simply because phones stack multiple exposures and often adjust tone curve drastically before compression. The noise level is significantly lower on the latter, though, obviously.

        I've seen this guy hate on everything Sony here, and at times Samsung and Apple, too.
        Could be a case of "what I don't like/can't afford, I make sure no-one else does", could be a myriad of other things.
        It's a shame his misguided opinions will influence others, especially ones not so involved/knowledgeable in the camera/optics industry, but what can you do.
        We have the internet for many good reasons - one of them is to use it to learn, research, and discover.
        But a 500$ APSC put in the same category as an FF, any FF... wow.

              No need to pay 3000 for entry level bucks if a 500 eur camera does same tricks.
              And in 3000 eur price segment there are lot more proffesional cameras which arent entry elvel like this one and does a lot better job.
              Nothing against Sony but this brand ask 50% of price of the item just for the company logo on the item.

Much better HDR and no overblown areas! It's the HDR that kills the cameras, until they start to stack images, as well, but for some reason they don't want to do that!

                    Also, Olympus had 4/3, way below APSC.

                    What's next, gonna say Redmi K40 Pro+ does better than A7R4?

                      If i really want i would buy Cannon Mark III for that much money. It cost bit more over 3000 but does 10000000 times better job.

I think R5 is a competitor for a7Riv, since it sits between a7riv and a1 in term of specs. Unreleased R1 will be a competitor for A1 and Nikon Z9 (maybe). But I don't know exactly, since camera segmentation is different than phones, so sometimes it's hard to guess which competes with which camera

Nikon Z6ii has problem with it's eye AF (which is the direct competitor for a7iv, a7iii before). But canon R6 can trade blows with a7iv more equally. They both have great eye AF, video capabilities, etc. Yes, sony has 33 MP and 10 fps burst shoot mode (in compressed raw), whereas Canon R6 has 12fps (presumably compressed as well) with 24mp (a trade of). Nevertheless, the e mount system currently is more mature than RF system.

                              Full disclosure, these are based on reviews from multiple sources. I myself only own and use a7Rii and 5D mk.3

                                You are labeling your opinion as facts. I don't even like Sony cameras because my hand feels weird, cramped when using it and even I have to acknowledge they make great cameras. In fact the a7iii was so value for money that it blew everything from 1500-3000 kinda redundant. And it's still available and is a great camera. This is just an evolutionary upgrade with better af, higher resolution, new menu and better video.

                                  - you spewing metric tons of misinformation in your neverending quest to hate on sony for no real reason (unless someone's paying you to do so)
                                  - you thinking that every camera is the same (in some "it takes pictures therefore it's the same" type of simplistic mentality), thinking that "all glass is the same", having no idea what chromatic aberration, for example is, or Full Frame, or thinking that an APSC entry level DSLR is the same as an entry/midrange FF mirrorless

                                        Maybe point and shoot cameras with a sensor smaller than 1 inch. Not APSC or Full Frame or Medium Format, especially at night.
