You are still using the same version as before with just an updated EMUI version. Phones like Mate 20, Mate 30 or even P30 are running EMUI 11 over Android 10..have you checked your software information? So, with the nova 9 launched a days ago Huawei presented EMUI 12 based on Android 11... Sounds strange but that's the Huawei strategy these days.

One thing is buying a phone and knowing what it can and cannot do. Another thing is to have a phone and lose some of the functions with an "upgrade"....
Huawei will never switch users to Harmony OS outside China...

Fadi, 29 Oct 2021This probably is fake cuz p20 pro didn't get emui 11 s... moreYes it is real because in China the P20/P20 already got Harmony OS 2.0 that is basically Emui 12 so, why not the P20 cannot get Emui 12 if the Chinese model have Harmony OS with all the new features? In Chua the P20 jumped form Android 10 to Harmony OS.
And another Important thing most of the phones that are going to get Emui 12 still based on Android 10 and if I'm right the P20 series is on Android 10 right now so they basically are updating the EMUI version only.
