No app in phone needs so many ram.

I'm not a professional or experienced photographer. I am noobest of the noobs but i would like to learn how to play / familiarize with the manual settings. If i have the budget, i will get one. I think the xperia pro-I will help people with budget deal with the learning curve in photography. just my opinion.

So yes, there are certain features unique to Sony. Just like there are certain features unique to other brands such as Google's astrophotography mode.

The closest thing Sony can do is put an M43 sensor on it, but that will use a lot of space. Plus, only Panasonic and Olympus use the M43 sensors. No one else uses it, not even Nikon and Canon. So 1" is still the right choice after all.

Even a friend of mine, who works as a photographer, has already decided to replace his current iPhone 12 Pro Max with this phone. He's going to keep his current A7 Mk3 for contract works only.

You saying that way implies that's something unique or special to Sony which is clearly beyond not the case. Nor is it even something they excel at.

I know professionals that use Sony as their daily driver, but most of them have iPhones. This is more enticing towards them because it's built towards photography, but they have cameras for that.

Just like he missed my point. I know the drawbacks on why the general consumer would prefer the smartphone and I can agree. I was referring to image quality, so I don't know why he is mentioning workflow.

"That better photo quality through the a mirrorless/dslr can only be achieved after post editing which takes quite a lot of time. Most people aren't going to invest time in that.
That Dxomark article given in the link by anonymous guy exactly explains how far we have come. Maybe read it throughly without your Sony tinted glasses."

Most people who have DSLR/mirrorless are already invested. Also, post-processing doesn't really take as long as you make it out to be. When you have enough experience, then you can quickly do the post-processing. I read that article, and it doesn't mean anything. It was also biased trying to make smartphones better than they are. They leave out a lot of information. Maybe actually read the article properly.

"The smartphone is a lot better in many areas and will give better image quality unless the images out of mirrorless camera have been edited. This has been proven in multiple scenarios and is possible because of computational photography."

This is false, I don't know what you're cheefing on, but smartphones do not produce better image quality than DSLR/Mirrorless. You can clearly see the difference when you actually look at them properly.

"Even a professional photographer isn't going to go with his bulky gear on a vacation. He knows he'll get reliable social media ready images through a pixel 6 or iPhone 13 Pro.
The bulky gear would only be reserved for professional work."

I agree with this, some either take their smaller bodies or phones. That's not my point, I was specifically referring to image quality which again is superior on DSLR/Mirrorless

ABF Media, 08 Nov 2021Debatable???! Lol.. The top 3 camera smartphones currently ... more"Debatable???! Lol.. The top 3 camera smartphones currently are Honor Magic 3 Pro+, Vivo X70 Pro Plus and Mi 11 Ultra. All have quad bayer sensors."

You're the first person I've seen that's said that Honor Magic 3 Pro+ as a top 3 camera phone. iPhones have good cameras and probably beat a lot of phones. They don't use QB sensors.

Sony's cameras can produce good results if you use manual mode and take your time, that's the way they have it as. I do agree that they need to work on their auto processing.

ABF Media, 08 Nov 2021Who are you kidding??? Point and shoot market is dead just ... moreAgain you just continue to prove that you lack reading comprehension. Smartphones are not taking over the camera world which includes MFT, APS-C, FF, MF. These cameras will be superior to a smartphone.

I can agree that the point-and-shoot market is dying and they need to work on computational photography to help them out.

The same can be said about Sony haters, both sides have extremes. Yet I can see Sony being attacked in articles not even related to them.

"You clearly are new.... to be this oblivious to their behavior or just like them.... can't handle even the slightest criticism against Sony"

You're clearly unable to comprehend well. The moment anything Sony-related is out, the company already has people attacking it. I admit Sony has faults, but that's all companies. There is no perfect company.
