Curious, 02 Dec 2021The reason I am asking is because I have a Malaysian Redmi ... moreI'm also from Malaysia and I used to own the Redmi Note 8. I can agree that there is no ads in it. However, I have now replaced it with a Redmi Note 10 and, unfortunately, there are ads in it. I may have disabled it, but not all apps can do that. As for Mi 9T, I agree with that YUKI93 guy about Xiaomi not putting ads on Mi and Mi T models. After all, Xiaomi start putting ads on Redmi and Poco phones since Poco X3.

sq2013, 02 Dec 2021Zero ads on my poco f3. Think you bought a dud.Same in my X3 Pro, X3 NFC and Redmi 9T no ads, all of them can be easily disabled. It's either that person don't know where to look for the toggles or just prefer to have something bad to talk about, that also includes his/her friends. It's not rocket science either. SMH.

AlienKiss, 02 Dec 2021What kind of country forces it's citizens to have a so... moreWhat a sanctimonious pray. I have read many history and I'm well aware of China's dubious human rights record and it's big brother approach to it's citizens but don't pretend China is acting in isolation. Numerous countries have murky aspects of their society. Koreans eat dogs. I adore dogs. They're my family pets. Should be boycott Samsung? South Korea has despicable salt farms forcing disabled and mentally challenged people into slavery. South Korea also has a terrible record in relation to human trafficking too. What about the USA? The land of the free. Continued racial discrimination against people of color, undermining women's access to health care, disproportionately negative impact of covid 19 on people of color due to slower access to vaccines. There are likely more. Do you preach in such s discriminatory manner against these countries? Do you boycott their goods and services?

i too bought it more than half or 1 year ago but it's been sitting in my purse ever since as a replacement/backup phone. I thought it was meant to be an upgrade over the x3 nfc but is only better on paper.
yes it's faster soc and internals but it overheats way too often because of this even if you try to always run it on battery saving mode to restrict the core usage.
screen colours are much better on the older nfc when you watch video too. Battery is the same capacity and if you are ever into Netflix, good luck going higher than sd resolution with widevine L3... it's ugly af....

YUKI93, 02 Dec 2021I doubt that. Even my friends who own Redmi and Poco phones... moreYour friends simply don't know how to turn off all the ads.
Gsmarena has confirmed everything can be turned off irrespective of which region you are from and some people in my office have poco and Redmi phones and all ads can be turned off on them.
So stop spreading the ads lie when your friends clearly are clueless on how to disable them.
That's like a friend of mine can't switch from photo mode to video mode in camera app.... does that mean everybody else can't switch to video mode?

Even my friends who own Redmi and Poco phones said the same thing about seeing ads on their phones. It's no different for me either. The only time I never see ads on Xiaomi phones are from the Mi and Mi T models. I can vouch for that because I tried out the 11T not too long ago and I didn't see a single ad coming from it.
