Xiaomi makes a lot of good devices in general, but they also produce huge amounts of trash. Just like all vendors that fill in every price point in budget segment.

I'd never buy their stuff since their products never fulfill my use case but Apple being where they are is because they have built up a formidable eco-system through incremental innovations. Other tech giants fell asleep at some point and now are hoping that an overnight miracle would put them at the top of the food chain, because their desperate attempts to play catch up have been failing miserably through either buggy software, bad hardware or just lack of both.
It's a friggin' shame that the nincompoops in Intel, Qualcomm and even Google's product management still have a job.
The worse part is, things will only get worse from here as they continue to desperately try to chase this company.

Being shady with overwhelming profit margins
having a very non tech savvy consumer base that believe they must buy a 1000 iPhone every year
Trapping people into an eco system
